Looking for an experienced Boston-area Acura repair shop/mechanic
Just moved back to Boston area, looking for a place to take my 1998 Acura 3.0 CL that won't rob me like the dealership service departments. I find that the best repair experiences come by word of mouth. That's precisely what I am hoping for here. Right now the nature of the repair is minor, more or less just looking to get in contact with a reasonably priced Acura repair shop.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
BTW, I noticed the posting about the dim headlights from a while back...my CL suffers from the same problem to the point where the dark golden lights barely illuminate the road. Suggestions on that front would also be appreciated.
Thanks.

I've always had better service and the most honesty from the Dealerships. Not that they haven't lied or tried to weasel more money from me, but they did it less than independant shops. You just have to go there knowing your car, what it needs, what it DOESN'T need, etc. That way you have the upper hand. Don't just act like you know what you're talking about either, actually do your homework so they know not to mess with you.
I also prefer the dealership because I get better service, a free loaner (nice ones too), and they KNOW how to do the work. I don't trust the experience or expertise of small shops as much as the dealership. Not saying there aren't competant technicians that work at small shops, just saying they are few and far between.
Headlights, do a search for "9005 conversion"
Hope that helps.

Motoship,
Thanks for the response. I know the dealership is the way to go, especially since they stand behind their work (and the loaner is a great perk as well), but paying for labor is pretty rough.
Maybe I'm just sore because I had a bad experience with Acura of Boston...their customer service was awful...just a bunch of low-lifes who treat you like crap.
What do you know about belt replacement? Expensive? When my car is idling it makes kind of a squeeky noise that makes me think it's a belt issue...it's by no means quiet.
