laying out my new stereo, input requested

i'm piecing together my new stereo. it's been a couple years since i've put one together for myself. i'm not doing any subwoofers, but i want to do 100+ watts per channel for the midrange, and replace the rear 6x9's with 6.5" components.

for the head unit, i'm going with Pioneer's DEH-6900UB. i've always been a pioneer fan, they're almost impossible to kill.

for 6.5's, i'm not really sure. the only speakers i've found under $200 a pair with over 100w RMS have been Polks and Alpines. i'm leaning towards Alpine as i've had several sets of Alpine speakers and subwoofers in the past.

Alpine SPR-17S (110wRMS@4ohm, $140)

Polk Momo MMC6500 (125wRMS@4ohm, $160)

for the amp, i'm looking at a pair of Hifonics TXI6006's. 125Wx2@4ohm RMS

so, if you have any suggestions or opinions, post up, i'm definitely not for sure on any of these.

if youre going eBay id get me some of the new SPX-17REF...... not quite the Pros, but still good and can be had for like 200 bucks, a good step up from Type-Rs.... AND theyve got Neodymium woofer magnets to help them out in our shallow ass mounting slots
