The latest on Cocoa's 3.5CL
So Cocoa told me the recent news on his car, and they havent finished yet ...BUT the shop took the time to paint his valve covers "blue that fades to silver" without telling him anything until now. If any of you have seen his car, its apparent that it goes with NOTHING on his car! They say it's their "signature" and they do it to every car.'
That is BS. How ugly is it you ask? He emailed me pics:
Hes pretty pissed about this, and he already said hes going to take em off and do his usual flat black over the blue/silver.
In other news..
We all got love for Cocoa, hope to see his beast finally running soon..

In other news..
They finally got the tranny and engine together, but in attempt to put it in the car, the mounts didn't work for them. They are going to try different mounts tomorrow, and they said hopefully both the engine and tranny will finally be in the car by tomorrow night. if so, then it's just the wiring they'll have to deal with afterwards and the lil bugs that come along...

right then and there is where I would pull my car out of the shop and take it elsewhere... who knows what else they did without him knowing.

The reason why they did this, was because the valve covers I had received were scratched up. So they did me the favor of repainting them to make them look presentable. Pretty nice of them regardless. I just wished it went with the car, that's all.

The rate is $100/hour now. But I was quoted for the work on the car back when the labor was at $75/hour. So that's what I'm paying.

They did tell me they were going to paint it. But I didn't think much of it thinking it was going to match the car. It's no biggie, it takes about half an hour to take all that off. And another hour to paint it and let it dry. Flat black it shall be

It's funny really, my friends and I havent each had our own car rolling all at once in over a year! There is always someone that has their car on down time, lmao. We're getting closer I tell ya! lol...
Right now we have 4 cars that are on down time, lol. 1 expected to be rolling by Saturday, 2 by next week, and the other is still unknown.

Heard your looking into the GTO. I've read those things get into the 12's very easily with simple mods (about 2g's worth). Damn you! I was hoping to see you in an SRT-8 like you had planned. Those things are sick as well.

if anyone wants a sweet 05' GTO, a buddy of mine's cousin is selling his... brand new, and its all modded up... he says it could theoretically run 11's at the track, but that its putting so much power down all it does is fishtail everywhere so he hasnt taken it yet...

I'm in SoCal right now. I'll be driving the car out to Tx after 2 weeks once I get my car back. Gonna get her tuned out here at SP Engineering. I'm having it tuned on 100 octane with the 125 shot. Then later that week I'll get her tuned to run on 91 octane NA, but a lil on the rich side for when I wanna use the nitrous.
The reason I'm using 100 octane first on the dyno, is to see what the max whp I can get out of her, just so for bragging rights. But as I said, I'll get her retuned so I can drive it on the street wihtout having to fill up with 100 octane fo rth erest of it's life, lol.

It's kinda common for machine shops to paint valve covers or spark plug covers of whatever, when they do work on your car. When I had machine work done to my B18C, they painted my sparkplug cover this god awful green color.
This looks like a badass project you took on. I hope eveything works out for you and can't wait to see it when it's done.

couldnt you just get a VAFC 2 and run both fueling maps for when ever you wanna do what ever ?
