keyless entry question

My remote works maybe 1 out of 10 times I try to use it to unlock the doors. Is there a fix to this? I already changed the battery in the remote as well as prying up the little metal contact inside the remote to make sure that it makes enough contact with the battery. Could the sensor inside the car be going out?

Also WHEN it works only the unlock and lock button work, not the trunk release.

I had to reprogram mine the other day, and luckily I have the shop manual to show me. Its a pretty short and simple (but repetetive) procedure. Unfortunately I cant get my hands on the manual till sunday. So yeah, if you might wanna try searching for the procedure somewhere and try reprogramming your keyfob.

What was the end result?

F Y I.. I did a meter check of the old batt in mine and it showed 3.04v.

The same style batt (slim 3v) in my new remote for the XM boombox showed 3.2 v. (differnt thickness, so NOT,,,,,, I cant use it).

So, I was just wondering if the slight drop in voltage means it's only a batt issue.

My door lock seems to work every 6-10 times, and the unlock - no workie.

Trunk (earlier) worked every time but now,,,,,,.......Nota.

Could probably get off my ass and get a new batt, but was hoping someone would know the tell tail signs of a batt going dead. (like it's never happened).

Hopn' it's not the main unit.
