Keyless Entry question

I bought a 97/2.2 from my cousins parents and they never gave me the keyless remote- Did all CL's come with keyless entry? If they did, can I just buy the remote off of ebay?

Thanks in advance for the responses,

Mike

As far as I know, all CL's had keyless entry... to be sure, look under the passenger side front seat... there will be a black box, about 5" square attached to a metal bracket which is then attached to the floor of the car. There is 2 wirring harnesses plugged into it.. each with roughly 15 wires. This is the keyless entry/alarm module... if its there, all you need is the remote and programing directions... someone on here should be able to help with the programing.

no all the cl's came with the remote, they do come with the system though. You can go and buy the remote for about 50 bucks at an acura dealership.

Check eBay. You should be able to get one for under $20.00

If you need the programming instructions, check here:

Thanks a lot!! I looked in E-Bay and found some remotes, but none of them were for a 97 CL- Which ones can I use? Or rather, which ones are ok to buy?

i dont think it has to be a 97 CL, it just has to be a CL with the same FCC ID as what matches the system..
i think some guy on the board who didnt buy it from the dealer... asked to see the EXACT system they would have installed.. and found the FCC ID .. wrote it down and then bought it off ebay :-D

the ID is listed on the back of the remotes... as long as it matches a remote for another 97 CL, it will work.

I just saw this. Let me look for it and get it to you.

EDIT: It's not in my manual!!!

I only have the 3.0 manual. Anything that's common to both the 3.0 and the 2.2/2.3 is only listed in the 2.2/2.3 manual (which I don't have).

Ya, the dealer will rob you for 100.00 for the remote. But I bought mine from the used car place (he ordered it) and i paid 35.00
