Keyless / Chirp / Alarm - I searched ...

Please read the whole things as its not just the common problem where re-programming the keyfob works.

No chirp is heard when using the lock and unlock buttons to arm/disarm the alarm.
- I have held the lock and unlock. It registers with the one and two light flash on the keyfob. Still no chirp sound is audible.
- I have replaced the battery for the keyfob
- The security light (red light in the door) blinks as usual
- My old keyfob stopped working so I purchased a new one about 6 months ago, worked fine until about 30 days ago.

Here is the weird part if I arm the alarm to quick (before closing the drivers door) I hear the chirp 3 times. But when the doors are all closed and I arm the alarm all I hear is the click of the door locks locking. Not sure why I would hear the chirp in one instance but not the other.

Even though I have replaced the battery in the keyfob and done all of the reprogramming steps in the owners manual as described in the other threads here, that doesn't seem to solve the problem of the chirp and alarm. I have reprogrammed the keyfob before in the past so I know how to do it properly.

Could these be a problem with the wiring, actuator or control unit? Nothing else seems to work.

Die one last thing. I even took apart the keyfob as when I searched it showed someone with a similar problem need to solder the board. The board in my keyfob was fine.

Thanks

Thats normal man. Same thing with my Acura.

That chirp is telling you that your door is still open...

Maybe I worded it wrong...
What I meant to say is I only heard the chirp when the door is open. When I lock my car with the doors closed there is no chirp ...

Thanks

Hold trunk and lock for a couple of seconds to enable/disable the chirp. It always dose the 3-chirp to tell you that it didn't lock because the door wasn't closed all the way even if you have the chirp setting off I think.

You have to hold the trunk and lock until the little red light on the key fob flashes. Its in the manual.
