My gear probably saved my life today. I was riding home from a friends house and it was about 6-7 so not to dark but not total daylight and I was at about 40mph in the right lane and next thing i know I saw a curb cover the whole fuckin lane! Never expected it and there was a car next to me and i had nowhere to go but hit the brakes and straight. So i slammed the curb head on, heard the bike rev and came down and thats about all I remember before i woke up half a block down and didnt remember anything. All i know is i flew over the handlebars snapped the left mirror off in the process and evidently went into the ground head first. My lower left back is sore so im def taking it easy the next few days. If it wasnt for my gear I guarantee i wouldnt be here tonight typing this.

Heres the pics (bike was leaking antifreeze to) so im calling the ins tomorrow to see how bad it really was. Luckily I have state farm

That's some scary shit. No broken bones or anything? Glad your still alive after that, doesn't always happen that way. Also looks like the helmet saved your life.

That curb is very unnecessary, I wonder if you can do anything about having the county/city pay for repair of your bike?

 

horribly engineered road............... but just lookin at those pics sent a chill down my spine, then I got to the helmet pic, and DAMN man, glad youre OK and all that, this just shows that wearing good riding gear is the best thing you can do while out there

Problem with the retarded curb is its in chicago so fighting them is like pulling teeth.

And yea def gonna get back on once i get it back to normal.

let me tell not anyone can ride a bike.. you have to have the strongest of hearts and no fear or thought of it.. your alive and thats good pay attention next time, im definately going to get a helmet now, i been lazy but im extra cautious, good luck with the bike, dented tank is no good.. take care and such a nice model bike to go to waste..

 

well the bike will get fixed, the tank isnt dented, thats the outter shell. The actual gas tank in an inner liner. Def gt a helmet man, everytime i look at that pic it gives me the chills
