Just thinking about screens..

Would there be any way to hook up an LCD Moniter(Computer not Car made... with the computer/laptop link) in a car..?

Without the use of a computer/laptop..?

Invert the power w/ an inverter, thats the easy part..

But would there be a way to go about hooking it up to a dvd player?
Just wondering.. don't know much about dvd players

Wondering cuz' some of thoose 15'' screen LCD's are like 200$ on tigerdirect now hehe.

If you bought a fancy one with other inputs besides standard VGA input then you could hook it up with ease. Otherwise it'll be pretty tough.

I don't think there are any comuter LCDs that you can get with anything other than VGA and DVI inputs. There are some LCD TVs with all sorts of inputs, but most are $$$.

I can get ya a unit that will convert anything you want to VGA but it'll be $1K+ I think ya betta just get a car screen man.

I dont see why this wouldn't work?..

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...538&CatId=1046

I mean it has the RCA plug-in's and if it can be used for a TV/TV Connecter it would be able to play off a straight DVD player no?

Just get an inverter for the power..?

(Sorry im a newb when it comes to DVD/Screens/Etc )

seems fine to me.

still don't know where you plan on fitting that thing inside of your car though....?

yeah it would work but i second the thought of why would you use this? Computer LCDs arn't known for their ability to play good looking movies. They are made to be easier on the eyes and use less power. They really don't look that good on movies IMO. to each his own, and if you want to do it then do it man. Not gonna stop ya!

I'd probablly custom a 14'' to the top to flip-down, not motorized just flip,

I wanna use an LCD, just because its bigger, and isn't gonna run me a shit load like some other screens

Plus I have a player im getting off a friend for 100$

So If I just get an LCD, Unmount the bottom mount and secure it so I can flip from the top, its almsot as good

Or I can have it slide out the glovebox and fold up, I dunno

Possibilites hhe

Its a cool idea just good luck finding a good place to mount it. Youd have to make some sort of floating mount for it to go to and position it in the center of the car....hmm sounds like too much work. But more power to ya man!

That'd actually be easier..

All you need is an inverter to power the laptop/screen, and hookup the screen to the laptop heh..

I was oringally thinking of doing this..

But it'd be more costlly having to buy a laptop too ;\

Main reason I want it, is functionality, Im not gonna watch a dvd sitting outside my car I'd rather do that inside the house hehe,

It would be nice to have one there for show, but dont have that kinda $$$

Right Now I just want a screen in the car that can play DVD's or even PS-2
