Just got my first Acura- 97 3.0Premium
Hi all! Just found this and joined. My name is Victoria.
Thread name says it. Has 150k on it. Pretty cherry looking for 20 years old. First thing I did was oil change with synthetic. Was going to do tranny fluid but my mechanic talked me out of it, saying you don't know what you will find if you drain it. If it's really old and gunky and thick it may be holding the tranny together and new fresh fluid is lots thinner so it could cause issues.
My check engine light is on but their scanner didn't show anything.
ABS light is on.
The speedometer doesn't work.
My D4 indicator always blinks. He said probably the speed sensor and his parts guy has it in stock for $100. I looked on eBay and lots of them for this car for only ten bucks. Is there more than one speed sensor?
My clock either doesn't work or doesn't light up.
The light in the drivers makeup mirror is out but the passenger one works.
The lever to move the seat to allow access to the back seat only works on the passenger side.
Can anyone offer any advice please?
I can't figure out even what color it is! Sometimes seems silver sometimes seems almost pink. Very shiny and pretty. Has full stainless steel exhaust.
Needs brakes soon even though they still stop the car fine. One rotor is all rusted as if the caliper never squeezes it.
Also missing the Acura emblem from trunk lid.
Only rust is about a 2-3 inch spot bubbling on front edge of hood. Would like advice on it as getting new hood vs getting it fixed in some body shop.
Loving it so far! Really fast and powerful. Needs tires too but I plan to order some on Amazon that are only around $50 each.
My third Honda. I had old Accord hatchback for about a year then traded for new 84 Prelude that I had for ten or more years. I'm in Boston Ma. We use lots of salt here so because I like my CL so much I'm even thinking of taking it off the road for winter and use my '01 Ford Escape xlt. There is no rust under the car or wheel wells.
Even came with fancy black leather case with all the manuals in new condition. Downside is none of the Acura schedule service is filled in but easy to see former owners took care of her.
Looking forward to all your comments. Thanks much, Victoria.

Welcome and you probably needs wheel balance or your motor mounts need to be changed for the vibration issues. This section of AZ is pretty quiet so answers may take longer than expected. Plus please search before posting any issues. Chances are that it has been answered before.

Hi and thanks much for the tips. I did search here first but no matter how precise I was and even when I used quotes I was really frustrated because I kept getting results for either the wrong subject or the wrong car. Plus it is impossible for me to read about 250 forum pages with twenty or whatever threads per page.
