J30A1 Vs H22A

I tried searching but didnt find anything..

Out of Curiosity

What kinda performance diffs are we looking at for a

1. J30A1 (3.0CL) - 200HP w 190lb Torque

2. H22A (3.0CL, w 2.2L H22A Red Top from a Type S swapped in) - 220HP w 164lb Torque

Anyone have any 1/4mile or 0-60 comparison stats?

There isn't a whole of 1/4 mile numbers that are documented. I'd bet they're both going to run in the high 15's.

Are you considering a swap? are you 3.0 or 2.x?

Guessing that means he has a 3.0 and he's considering the H22 swap. From what I recall from threads around, this is more difficult since you need to obtain the 2.x subframe. I could be wrong, but I am sure one of the swapped guys will chime in.

lol na we just gotta get together. Im down, we r gonna lower my car so maybe when we meet to do that we can run them. Even if he beats me wont bother me, especially with all the mods he has. Not tryin to make it faster just like to drive it. IM into bikes and sports cars for speed. I have my eye on a nice 6spd c5. We can race those lolz.

Lower it, and after the race you guys could do a cute little photoshoot. I have Blazin by 1.5 car lengths. I don't really know his numbers too well tho. Just a guess.

We can do it almost any night of the week. Only mods I have are header and exhaust with the stock cat. The car is untuned, but oh well. I don't know when a a proper tune will take place.

Who are these people? I'm guessing those aren't screen names 'cause I can't find them.

We can do that if I can bring the little hatchback or the turbo Buick.

I tried to find out more on this race, but need some things cleared up. SupramanAG had the H22 and subbuzz had the J30? I saw a thread where supraman was doing an H swap and looked like a white guy. Then I found a video on youtube of a H22/J30 race and the guy the in the H22 CL won, but sounded like he had an asian accent. He also mentions the name "Arber" as if the guy the in the J30 has that name. Supraman is also the one selling an H23 swap, not an H22.

Supraman, aka Arber, is the H22 CL and he is of European descent, probably why it sounded like he had a weird accent to you and appears caucasian. He and Subbuzz, aka Percy, who is African American/Puerto Rican i believe, had trash talking session that spanned vast amounts of weeks/threads until they finally raced and Arber won convincingly, whereas the trash talking continued as Percy made up excuses (and it's just his natural demeanor to talk trash lol).

Arber isn't selling his H22, he's going all out turbo on it. Starboy2nv, aka Kumar, is the one selling an H23a swap since he went K24 and has nothing to do with the story except that he also resides in NY and also bashes on Percy lol. I hope that provided some clarification

Ah, got it. Thanks. I searched a bit last night and found some random trash talkin' and no video or final outcome. The youtube vid appeared on googlle with no Azine link.

This all took place back when I was a lurker. Sounds fun though. We need more rivalries.

We do need more rivalries, but there's a large gap on this forum between those that are avid modders and those who periodically do things here and there.

Like for engine mods the 4 cyl guys take the cake, there's only 2 modded J series worth racing and 1 of them isn't even done yet lol. 4 cyls theres Arber who isn't done building his H22 turbo beast, Kumar whos k24 is in the process of completion, my car is sitting in a shop waiting for me to pick it up, your car needs a tune, lawlergaggzor's setup is incomplete and bgsrmyth is selling his car. Who else is there that's currently active?

For all around aesthetics, Chris' car is constantly being torn apart n put back together, mattastick isn't done with his audio setup, Kumars car is still in pieces, etc.

The rest of the forum really just does your basic I/h/e and drop/lip wheels and that's really it if u think about it, which theres nothing wrong with that cuz the car has different uses for different people, but its hard to start hardcore rivalries like Percy vs Arber or even Cali vs East Coast like there used to be on here anymore. I think once i get my car up n running again I'm just gonna start picking on the 2nd gen guys, or maybe an N/A battle with tehCL if his car is ever done lol.

I guess we'll have to see what the J's have when the time is right, although I don't know of many that are "prepped correctly" like you mentioned.

I suppose every car forum has it's share of engine builders, but on a small community like this, it seems that much smaller. It looks like most of the more extreme stuff is coming out the north east which makes it exciting for those who live in that region.

I've actually grown fond of the CL. Almost wish I had it earlier in the decade. A high strung all motor CL would be a bitchin' ride. Unfortunately, that's not the case. The only reason my car isn't tuned is because I had planned on buying a set of Skunk Stage 1's and possibly a Skunk or Euro R intake manifold. No sense in having it tuned before that. Those two mods will be the extent of the H modding for me. I'll sit back with my pop corn and watch the north east rivalries unfold.

The J is the motor to watch, though. Whether it be the J32 or J30. I'd like to see someone do a 6 speed swap to the 3.0 just so it gives the V6 guys a reason to build the motor. Someone here will have to put forth the effort and probably be without a car for some time. Otherwise, I think it all comes down to what the Civic's and Integra's do with it. They're the ones that will drive the market for this engine. If the swap continues to catch on, it won't be long before the aftermarket puts out some upgraded internals and forced induction kits. I guess all we can do is wait.

This is what I'm hoping for, and don't worry, there are still people building J's on here, they're just few and far between

No replacement for displacement. The J has the displacement and potential to be top dog among the Honda motors. At some point though, traction becomes a huge issue. It doesn't matter if it's a 600 whp H vs a 700 whp J. They'll both run similar times. Hence the old joke, "What do 400 hp and 1000 hp Supra's have in common? They both run 12's."

IIRC, he lives in a suburb of Charlotte. I've haven't seen it around, though.
