Has anyone raced an IS300?

i dont think the autos are pretty fast

Have you ran it with one? I got one of my boyz that got a yellow IS and thinks his ryde is fast. All he has is an Injen intake nothing else. Should I even waiste gas on him?

I believe a stock mt is300 is in the low to mid 15s for the 1/4. Once they put in a turbo, theres no chance.

No my ex had an auto IS and when I ran it at the track it got a 14.8. They are pritty quick and you have to think they got rear wheel drive. Hers did have the auto that switched over to manual and this power button that gave you boost off the line. They are quick but I raced her and hung with her but it was just through the 1/8 and my friends said I had her but bairly.

Boost off the line? WTF are you talking about. IS300s have the NA supra engine...NO turbo.

I'd also say vs a 3.0, it would be a good race. 2.2s/2.3s would get smoked like usual.

i have an 01 ac but i raced my buddy in his 01 is300 w/ aem ram air + cat back and exhaust.... rwd we raced a quarter mile and i had him, but wasnt pullin out he just couldnt pass.... around the turns my buddys car handles better

Race my friend in his IS300, lol. They are worthy. Dont under-estimate one if the driver knows how to run his car. My friend took off his turbo kit to go with a bigger set-up. Right now he just has CAI, headers, downpipe, and exhaust on it. He beats/hangs eith my other friends that are all motor. We still havent raced, but I know he'll take me off the line. It's going to be a game of catch-up for me. Question is, will I?

i think IS300's are a bunch of POS cars and they are overplayed and too many people have them

Reasons why the IS300 > 3.0/2.2/2.3

1) More HP stock
2) RWD
3) More potential (turbo IS's are ridiculous...not to mention you can straight up swap in a 2JZ-GTE)
4) Manual option compared to none for the 3.0 CL
5) Smoother shifting in the auto than the CL will ever have
6) Nicer interior/guage cluster/etc etc
7) Less transmission failure
8) Inline 6 Vs the CL's V6...Inline's have less friction. Better design.

God you dweebs are some ignorant people. Lexus/Toyota will always be > Acura/Honda. Not to mention they're about to drop in a 4.3L V8 with a 6 speed getrag transmission in that bitch in the upcoming models. Its a better car. Period.

lexus are nicer and faster but i see what you are saying they are better but i have to say i love my Acura CL

my car was badly hit and i had my bosses IS for most of last summer (or was it the one before whatever) but it was a blast to drive turn off the traction contol and slide that rear end around corners god i love rwd anyway when the time comes to lose the cl if one passes buy me for a good price/deal at the auction i will buy it without question

I'll be down to race an IS 300 in my 2.3 CL.

I'd like to see Acura put out a V8 instead of tweeking that same v6 block from a 3.0...3.2...3.5. It's a good modular design but aging and getting lapped.

I stay in south kendall and so does my boy. I will take him on whenever I chill with him on the weekend. Whether it be in the street, or highway. I will let you know on the outcome. He's not much into racing but he likes to speed. Said he raced a CL once before and beat it. He didn't know what type of CL he raced. He drives a stock yellow IS with red decals on his rear windows (SmartSounds) so if you ever see him, test him he will race.

IS300 are ok...not that fast....i've raced 2 before one off the line and one on a 40mph roll. smoke the hell out of the guy at the light.

OK what I meant by the power button. On the Auto there is a button beside the shifter that says snow and another that says pwr. If you push the power button it alters the thinking of the computer for faster and more aggressive driving plus combine that with the steering wheel shifter its bad trust me
