no, no full speed decks do (meaning it plugs into the bottom), full speed is what you want. aux isn't very high quality, always comes unplugged, and you have a higher risk of getting a short. plus full speed looks fancier.

no you read it wrong, no full speed decks you can control from the ipod. most. if not all, you can control from the hu, but you can also unplug your ipod to pick a playlist, artist, song, etc. full speed is just better. 32 pin, not aux.

You have a few options with Pioneer HU's.

This allows you to plug in your iPod to the AUX2 connector in the back and you can still control the iPod from the iPod. Plus it charges it at the same time.

This option allows you to control the iPod directly from the HU.

Or you could use this as an AUX input. I'm not a big fan of these however.

I've heard that quite a few HU's are compatible. The iPhone will say that "This device might not be compatible" or something like that, but it usually works. I know for sure that some of the Alpine units work with the iPhone, but I'm not sure about all the other brands. I personally can't stand Alpine though. They're like Bose. People buy them for the brand name and the quality leaves much to be desired.

That specific one is compatible with Pioneer HU's, but you can find ones for pretty much any make/model.
