haha WOW! I am very interested in this and how it turns out...The same thing happened to me a few months ago...
I did exactly what you did. I sent a calm e-mail, stating that he was using my car without my permission ( saved the e-mail as proof ) he never replied, but I check to see if he's using my pic every once in a while, and haven't seen it since...haha...crazy people out there man...

I e-mailed the copyright office for suggestions and this is what they had sent me:
"The US Copyright Office serves primarily as an office of record, a place where
claims to copyright are registered when the claimant has complied with the
requirements of the copyright law. However, the Copyright Office is not charged
with enforcing the law it administers. Nor are we permitted to provide legal
advice or opinion.
To notify the administrators of eBay to alert them to copyright violations or
fraud conducted through their site, go to:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/confidenc...tigations.html
You may wish to seek the counsel of a competent copyright attorney to discuss
your legal options, such as a preliminary "cease and desist" letter. The
Copyright Office is unable to provide referrals or a list of attorneys, but your
local or state bar association may be able to recommend a copyright attorney, or
an attorney who specializes in intellectual property, arts or entertainment law
matters. Alternatively, you may wish to investigate whether a public interest
organization that offers services to authors and copyright owners, such as
Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, has a regional office in your area that may
assist you with locating free or reduced fee legal services or assistance. For
more information about this group go to
http://www.starvingartistslaw.com/he...%20lawyers.htm. In addition,
local law schools may provide representation through clinical programs in
Intellectual Property or Arts and Entertainment Law.

Looks like I'll follow up on both options they had suggested.

dude.. it might cost u more to go get a lawyer.. is it worth it? i remember when i had to go see a lawyer.. 1/2 hour free of charge.. and after that its like 100 bucks an hour ...
unless of course u already have an attorney handy.. then you're set! sue those bastards!!
i guess this would be a good option

i agree.
the thing is, this isn't a full on lawsuit where there will be an exceptionally large sum amount of money to be fought or compensated. in order for me to make big money is if they went big with my photograph - perhaps for instance, they used my photos in a calender and made thousands upon thousands of dollars in profit. hiring a lawyer for that, would be worth it.
since this is a quite small infringement act, hiring a lawyer wouldnt be worth my time unless if i had money or the time to spare. but i don't have any to spare for this small accusation. nevertheless, the other party is still wrong.
what copyright office and legendaryCL had pointed out, volunteer lawyers may be my best bet to get things done for a reduced rate or perhaps free of charge.
