Insurance & Theft Issue 4 CL
Hi i just bought a 99 Acura 3.0 CL which i have wanted for the longest time!... I just love the car.. especially the back because its so unique... i also purchased the clear bumper lens and WW type R spoiler ... but when switching insurance i found out that insurance for that car was SKY HIGH!... im talkin 4 thousand Canadian for me.... i asked the reason.. and they told me that 1st Acura CL is one of the most stolen cars around!... I plan to put the nicest stereo system and Indash DVD player.. but now im just scared to do anything.. the car is still under warranty from Acura so i dont think i can install aftermarket alarm... i just want to know how much you guys pay for insurance.. and how you prevent break in's.

im pretty sure you insurence got it wrong the acura integra is one of the most stolen cars around. you cl should have an immobilizer key which isnt imposible to steel but does slow the thief down. try a different insurence company

im 18 also and i pay 1400 /yr under my moms maxima if i was on my cl it woudl be over 2000 or so, The viper 790 XV is sweet,i just got mine installed and i love it, the range is amazing and ya gotta love the remote start. you can also get proximity sensor addons as well as window shatter addons(detects the sound glass makes when it shatters) it adds onto your stock alarm(i can use either or .. or both at the same time) even both panic buttons work at the same time..anyways, they cant be the most stolen due to the fact that there isnt as much as there is other cars (accords, civics, ect...) know what I mean? I know a few years back the accord was on the top 10 list for most stolen...but never heard of the cl being =) as far as i know...

Use common sense to prevent break in's. Things like, park in a well lit area, don't leave personal items in visable sight, tint windows, etc. Use the search button and find a thread about theft. Someone posted some very informative info about thef protection.

My god! I thought I had insurance problems. I pay about 2k a year, but that's because I had an accident, and many insurance companies hiked insurance after the flood here in Houston back in 2001.
