Injen Intake

INJEN IS TELLING ME THAT THEY DO NOT MAKE A SHORT RAM FOR MY 97 3.0CL. BUT I HAVE SEEN PICS OF ENGINES WITH AN INJEN SHORT RAM. I HAVE ALSO HERD THAT THE 98 V6 ACCORD IS THE SAME ENGINE AND INJEN MAKES INTAKES FOR THEM. NOW I WOULD LIKE PEOPLE WHO REALLY KNOW ABOUT THIS TO LET ME KNOW. NOT WHAT U THINK, TELL ME WHAT YOU HAVE OR WHAT YOU HAVE SEEN. WHAT SHOULD I ASK FOR WHEN I GO AND BUY MY INJEN FOR MY 3.0 CL. THANKS GUYS.

bro... stop yelling... write outta caps first....

as far as your intake.. they may not make any intakes for your car.. all are listed under 98-00 accord... its rare that any parts, although somoe are, will be listed under CL... good luck... but why you want a short ram anyway?!

Casper, Why not? I have the Weapon R REAL carbon Fiber Dragon intake. IMO, it looks better than the AEM's because it meshes with the engine. The dragon filter is just so cool looking! The aem's, all you see is a blah pipe that doesnt look like it belongs under the hood, just my opinion, i know EVERYONE out there has them! Here take a look:

Cold air is better for our cars. Plus foam filters suck. Get yourself a K&N or Apex'i.

check my pics out i have a injen short ram i recommend it over any intake anyday. i love the sound and the humming is cool, my gf says she can hear me coming into our apartment complex. but hey i got mine for a little over 100 like 120 or so but get the one made for the accord the cai for the accord will not fit, or at least thats what my performance guy says. i ordered one and a short ram at the same time cause we both didnt know what would fit on the cl, but the short ram for the accord fit, the cai wouldnt cause you needed to bend the pipe a little out to the fender to make in into the hole, note i also tried getting the extension for the short ram since i have one and i wanted a cai, we noticed that the short ram you need to bend it a little also cause it bends a little too much on the bend and it needs ot bend out.

my suggestion is get short ram. ask casper where he got his cai cause i cant seem to get my extension to fit right when i ordered it. but look around youll find something. but check out my pics and youll see my short ram i have. the only problem was the fucking tube thats metal for the front is welded to another tube and it pisses me off that i cant remove it at all but hey the tube for the back is a bitch if you have big hand. hope this helps at all.

The cold aem's add cooler air, but the filter is not that much of a diffrence. The dragon filter allows 288 cfm whereas the k&n adds around 500 cfm. The 288 cfm rating exceeds ratings anyway, a k&n just really exceeds them. My point, if you can only breath so much, why add something to breath more than you actually can. The dragon is good enough for me, and it sounds great on the vtec. Another good thing about weapon R, the part is designed for the CL so any warranty problems are out the window. Anyone know how much more hp an aem would add over the weapon r?

The hp gains with a short ram is under 10 hp anyway, so it really doesn't matter. The difference between the two cannot be more than 2 or 3 hp at the engine, that is almost not measurable at the wheels. So, do you want looks or performance. For looks, weapon r is the best, performance aem or injen.

Oh yeah, it s for the 98 accord v6. Mke sure it is the 3.0 vtec engine.

OK OK OK...

I have had both... SHORT and CAI Intakes...
I have had both... AEM and INJEN....

SHORT v. CAI: Cold air is better for your engine regardless of the HP gain... It helps regulate the burn of your fuel in the mixture and causes better combustion... The HP gains are not noticeable btwn the 2, sometimes i think my SHIRT was more powerful... however what you do realize is that the SHIRT is considstant at the same power and the CAI on 70 degree or kless days makes your car feel so much faster!!!! Thats the difference.. so you make your choice based on that!!!!

AEM v. INJEN: all it is is cosmetic really... Both use the same piping and filter types... the DRAGON has a sponge filter.. those are really NOT recommende.. they cannot hold as much dirt and are easily torn when cleaning them... you do clean it right!? The INJEN is LOUDER than the AEM... otherwise they are the same.. I have replaced my AEM with INJEN for the chrome pipe... GOOD LUCK!
