Infinity Basslink
Hey guys
I just purchased an Infinity Basslink from Ebay. How hard is this thing to install ??? It has the driver's remote also. I am thinking about just getting it installed at a stereo shop.
What do you guys think??

If you have any kind of wiring knowledge you can do it yourself. If you have an aftermarket head unit with preouts it is even easier. Bottom line is, you run a fused wire from the battery to the trunk, and run RCA's with an amp swicth from the head unit to the trunk.

The Basslink is easy as hell to install... you just need a power feed from the battery... a good grounding point near the mounting location, and sound from the rear speakers. The Basslink senses for sound when the speaker level inputs are used, so no remote turn on feed is needed. Feel free to email me if you need extra guidance.

I used to own a basslink....if you're looking for as small of an enclosure as possible and also not sacrifice clean sound, you made the right choice. it's got a powered subwoofer and also a passive cone (looks exactly like the powered sub) which is actually a pretty good steal.
for the stock head unit, if you've got the bose stereo and you want to upgrade to an aftermarket head unit, i think you might have to rewire every speaker. If you've got just a normal head unit then the swap will be very simple.
if you want to run the basslink directly off of the stock head unit, be prepared to lose your rear speakers - that's how you get the signal (music) to the basslink.

yea, you don't lose your sound, i just spliced into my rear speakers and poked a hole through the firewall running the power line through, pretty simple to run the wire, i hide it under my sidestep and under my backseat, i think my grounding point was near my shock in the rear, hidden behind the carpet, pretty simple, alot of boom for what it is, remote control is sweet, but the thing about tapping into the rear speakers, everytime i shut off my car, and leave the remote gain controller on MAX, and open the trunk, a LOUD hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm comes from the back, have to go turn the remote gain down and then pop the trunk again
