Im back...

Hey whats up bitches?! It been a long time since I have been on... O what since December when my baby got keyed...

Well insurance fucked me and I started to lose interest in my car.
As much as I love my Cl and you all... its time to move on. I have the car pretty much sold, just waiting for the kid to get his loan cleared up.

Whats next? A 2001 VW GTI VR6 5 speed... gonna be sick.

I have been so busy working at Circuit City, school, putting the turbo, fitting, head work, all that shit for my bros Teg. Its been nuts... but I will keep on here.. keeping an eye out for whats new.... and I will post some pics when I get the VR6 done (puting H& R cup kit, deep dish 19"s, Reiger Body kit, jackson racing super charger, full blown mobile, the works) I already have the super charger, suspension, and mobile video.. just waiting for the ride haha. No i am not a moron.. The car is sitting at my house, just need to pay the guy (my best friends dad) off when i sell my car.

Peace out.. and Just know I will Always be an Acura Cl driver at heart... and shit... if all hell breaks loose... custom time for the CL???

1.8T's smoke the hell outta VR6's.....what a shame........

Around here people we line up against golf's all the time and we glance to see if it's a VR6 emblem or 1.8T......we laugh at the VR6's

2001 only has 174 HP, get you a 2002+ 1.8T 180HP and a 350 buck upsolute chip gives you 35 HP more

damn shame.........

A 2001 VW GTI VR6 5 speed is one fast car! Congrats!

I've driven one, and was very impressed.

1.8"T" T is for turbo

my friend has a 4 door 2001 1.8T and added a CAI, diverter valve, motor mounts, upsolute chip, catback, and short throw; cost him all of 1300 bucks b/c he can do stuff himself.

last time he went to track he ran a 14.18

The VR6 is also quick, but not as fast as you might think.

with a much heavier engine, and extras in the VR6 model not found in the 1.8T, the weight difference on fully loaded models is almost 400 pounds.

my Tq numbers may be off, but;

2001 and older VR6 174 HP, 172 TQ
2002+ VR6 200HP, 195TQ

2001 and older 1.8T 150HP, 144TQ
2002+ 1.8T 180HP, 166TQ

an upsolute chip gives you 35 HP and 29 TQ....350 bucks, wont void warranty

GIAC chip gives up to 55 HP and 45 TQ for $475 but makes many 1.8T's smoke if not maintained perfectly

I know you can turbo and super a VR6 as well, but the power difference is not much between the two, the weight is what kills the VR6's advantage in displacement.

VW designed the VR6 for everyday commuter use, for people who wanted some beefy TQ for their driving. On top of that, they were able to design it to fit in the space of a 4 cyl. engine; only problem was that (of course) it weighs much much more.

there is a reason why the 1.8T has been named one of the "10 best engines" for it's first 5 years on the market, and before they turbocharged the engine, it was the keystone for VW engines ever since they switched from their air-cooled days of the beetle

The VR6 is just as quick as I drove it!

Beats a stock 3.0CL like it was standing still.

Stats on paper don't do justice to the VR6 GTI.

Chipped 1.8T's are ultimately unreliable. They develop a lot of problems.

My uncle is a VW "guru", and holds his VR6 GTI above all his VW's/Audi's

most problematic 1.8T's that come into the dealership have problems b/c they dont do their maintenance on time and they either use the GIAC chip, and/or use bad gas.

I dont know how many bad chipped 1.8T's that come in are due to misuse, or due to the ignition coil recall.

I remember days in the back of the dealership we had a hooked up 1.8T from GMP performance and we drove it around and one of the salespeople had a 2002 VR6, we took them both on the side road used for test drives and the 1.8T smoked the Vr6 with the 200HP every time by about 3 car lenghts (no fair since the GTI is small!)

the 1.8T had a neuspeed ship, short shifter, axleback exhaust, 18" rims and a body kit.

we did horrible things to some of those cars!

Mk4 Golfs are ultimately unreliable heh. Back on topic, I'd take a 24V VR6 w/ a 6spd over a 1.8T w/o question...and I get to drive modded 1.8T's on a regular basis.

Seriously, a 1.8T w/ a chip, especially Neuspeed's, and just an axle back isnt going to be that quick.

Not that the old man would ever run his car hard anyway. I think he'd have me by a car length + to 90.
