idle above 1000 rpm

idle above 1000 rpm

okkk another issue like always....so the other day im warmin up my car and then i pulled out of my driveway and stopped at the stop sign...the idle was ABOVE 1100 rpm...and then i put the car into P and it start revving on its own...at least to 2000RPM...i have a hunch it could be the throttle sensor...but i jus wana know what u guys think??

yup sounds like the TPS, they go in our cars a lot

yeah when i turned the car off...lol...once i turn off the car the engine stops 2 sec. later

lol! i had this problem befor but it only happened once and never again for some reason and hopefuly not again..... why does it even do that?? its not any mechanical issues when it happens right?

Either TPS or IACV.

Probably TPS IMO

ok the problem occured again! BUT now it happens usually when i dont drive for couple of days....im usually dormin so i dont drive from monday till wednesday or thursday...but i drive and stop it idles above 1000 rpm. but after drive for 5minutes, it goes back to normal idle. =(what the heck is goin on?

had a 2000 accord V6 pretty much same thing as your car, it was TPS / vacuum problem. easy fix.

Is this a 3.0 or a 2.2/3? On my accord 2.2 the thottle cables and whatnot would get sticky and stay open a little causing it to rev up just a little. Just needed to adjust / lube it.

Long time no post, thought id drop in, anyways mine did the same a few times it would stop if i kicked up the revs once or twice just a quick tap to 2 or 3 grand would do it
