I'm running a JDM h22 engine in my car, but can't pass smog obviously, so this is where i need your help!!! My mechanic knows people around diamond bar/walnut area that can do a smog for him because they know him. All he needs to do is bring a car that is similiar. Color does not matter, engine make does not matter. He is planning on using the car that I can find, someones CL, and use that car to run the smog test on. This is a SMOG TEST ONLY center. There are no consequences, he's done it plenty of times so he knows what he's doing. My family has known him for about 15 years (he's an older guy), and is very trust worthy.
This is what we would need to do. I would need you to drive your car down to Diamond Bar, and my mechanic will drive the car to the smog place. He said it'll be about an Hour to an Hour and a half. I will buy you lunch and we can talk cars, or i can just give you some money and call it a favor when it is done.

So if anyone can help me out... thatd be great!!!

check engine light doesnt mean anything. I passed smog in CO with it on before i got my new 02 and cat and i still passed with great numbers. The guy ripped on it hard though when he got it on the dynometer.....said it pulled smooth without the 02.....but i passed.

I live in oxnard (too lazy to mapquest the distance), I'm 100% sure it would pass smog. What kind of compensation would I get?

id love to help you man but im in the bay area. But u know u dont need a cl. you can get any car thall pass smog if he know the owner of the smog place and they wont trip off that.
If hes trying to trick them then ull get f****d cause all smog checks are requiered by law to check the vin number in 2 locations to make sure ur testing the right car. Also hell prob need to take your car too cause they need to scan the number off your car.
