First I left or went on a hiatus with a Jeep, and next my buddy is now gone, what am I to do?

Well fellas, it's official. I will be rejoining the Acura CL family in the spring. my Jeep that I traded my CL in to get, the transfer case crapped out on me, seems as it had no fluids so it costs $2500 to replace. Can you say pissed? I am used to having 2 cars, so I had to go rent a vehicle while they fix my baby. Well, no more! I am going back to being a 2 car person, and my vehicle of choice is the beloved 1st gen CL. I figure to get a good deal on one for between $5-8K. I'll start looking in March, once I recover from the Jeeps repair and my trip to Hawaii in 3 weeks. Hopefully, we can convince Dust to return to the fold, and get another CL so we can both start to rebuild/upgrade the 2nd versions of out cars together.

i guess you havnt read the past 4 previous pages above because then you'd know he isnt parting out the car. Dustbuster is telling me tomorrow where the car is located, where I am either going to buy the car and ship it to Kansas and then part it out for people who want parts....or, im going to fly to DC, part the car out there and ship all the parts back....

But ricks not parting out the car. It ends up in the junk yard tomorrow. I will tell everyone what I plan on doing and maybe I can get the parts for everyone who wants them....

sooo I still havn't heard from Rick...He said he'd know were the car was being taken on Monday. Im sure by now the cars on blocks and the parts are all taken off...shit...there probably goes my chance of buying the car and parting it out to you guys...crap crap crap!

I have a call into the claims adjuster (I forgot to ask where the car is located when I spoke to him this AM). :dummy:

They gave me a little over $8K for the car.

It's all over! No more CL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You might be able to see your car at the online auction. Although I think you have to be a registered user to access the auctions.

My buddy goes to these auctions every week all over the area. I'll tell him to keep an eye out for the CL and see what it goes for.

 

well crap....i really didnt think the car would be going to some auto auction....I thought it'd just go sit at a junk yard. Turns out I might now be able to buy it. This sucks! I need to make some more phone calls!

BTW: I looked up the Kansas City branch...thats the place where i bought my car...my was from a dealer though...but same auto auction place...

 

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Over the years Rick has been the most helpfull person on this board. I've seen him go out of his way just to help a fellow CLer, including myself.
Sorry about the loss Rick, but everything happens for a reason. If I hadn't totalled my last ride, I would have never got the CL.
