i just got into an accident and i need to know what you guys think about the repairs. As of how it looks its all asthetics and no engine or other component damage. I was in a parking lot and i hit a car that was going parrallel to me and i happen to hit the other cars rim, so there is no damage to the other car, only mine. The left sidmarker came off, the bumper is lowered and pushed to the side(no cracking), the air bags went off and the windshield cracked. I def. wasn't going more than 10mph. The guy at the body shop said that the airbags and the airbag module will cost about a 1000$ used. He didn't say anything about the other stuff yet. What sucks is that my dad just lowered my insurance to liablity so we gotta pay for all of it. I just want to make sure that this guy isn't ripping us off or anything.

yea, airbags are damn expensive.....that's a good/fair price for air bags...usually would run you over 2000 an air bag i believe, new.

air bags went and the windshield cracked + the bumper lense came out AT ALL UNDER 10 MPH!?!

$1000 used is def a good deal for the airbags, You must have hit that car hard at 10 mph to do all that damage, and blow the airbags, unless you hit a sensor or crumple zone just right. But your insurance will take care of it all, There's NO FAULT if you have an accident in a parking lot. SHHHHHHHHH i didn't tell u that.

Similar shit happend to me the other day, I'm just not one to make a post about it. Luckily my airbags went off but my hood, grill, 1 fender, rad, headlight, and some other shit are fucked. Luckily my bumper went untouched. I only had liability too, but i may have decided to pay for it myself anyway because insurance is damn expensive here after 1 accident.

yea, i mean i was slowing down when i hit the person, but I KNOW i wasn't going more than 10mph. I didn't get pics of it. Its snowing really bad hear in jersey and the car is at a shop already so i doubt i can get pics of it. But yea, the exact middle of my bumper hit the middle of the other cars back rim and it seems like the rim pulled the bumper with it so thats why its shifted. The windshield cracked because of the airbags. I didn't even feel a jolt when i hit the car.

how about the bumper and windshield. how much should a bumper cost if i do need to replace it and how about the windshield??

Ive seen some airbags on ebay for extremely cheap (you have to watch out who you buy them from though...You have to be a good ebayer to know who is trustworthy)

If you dont want to press your luck i always go to www.car-part.com... they are a nation wide online junkyard that has EVERYTHING for ANY car. You put in what car you want and what part you need and then a list of sellers and prices comes out. I bought my transmission for my altima there for like $250 shipped.

i was going like 30 mph on this traffic and breaks got locked from ABS problems
and hit the car in front of me at least 15-20 mph. . i have a dented hood and broken headlight ! LOL!! thats all i got and scratched bumper

I was sliding down an icey bridge at about 60mph and sideways and ran into the k-rail and no airbags. About 5k worth of damage to the front end, but no deploy.

damn that is weird. I just checked ebay and a guy is selling cl airbags and module for 800$ buy it no and 600$ starting bid. exact color too. im gonna ask the guy at the body shop and get them. he has 400 or so feedback and 100% positive. seems good to me, what do you guys think??

Wow, what a shit deal... THe CL stands up good against most things. My wife got hit from behind in my CL and it really only scuffed the bumper... $500-$600 in damage unless it warped my front brake rotors. The car is shopped and I should get it back by Thursday or Friday. Currently, I'm driving a rented Chevy Malibu.. what a POS. Anyway, not a bad price for the bags, but the body damage could be around $1800 with windshield and lamps. Hope your bumper can be saved. They will refinnish it and remount it. If not, that could run another $450 unpainted. Good luck.

well, the guy at the shop is REFUSING to put in any airbags that i buy and give him. So i have no choice but to pay whatever he says. and he still hasn't given an estimate for the bumper and windshield.

The shop is probably gonna get it from ebay or a junyard anyways. He could be trying to make a good chunk off of you. But then again...it is airbags were talking about here...good luck

I just noticed that I wrote "Luckily my airbags went off" in my post. I'm meant to say I'm damn lucky they didn't go off or I would be dealing with this same shit ontop of all the other repairs.

the guy at the shop called me today and told me that if i buy the airbags he'll put them in now. so hopefully the guy from ebay will sell them to me even though i didn't bid on them and no body won them

so i just went to the shop again and he was telling me that he wants to replace the strut mount,strut, and joint on the front left suspension and pull the frame forward and re-align all the tires to spec. Is fixing a bent frame possible. My car had originally been in an accident before i baught it and i knew that the frame was bent, the guy told me. I got a real good deal on it and that is why. Other mechanics haven't ever told me they could fix this, so i figured it couldn't be done, so i was just wondering if this is possible??
