I dont need to change transmission forever??

My car is 98 2.3 CL bought last month.
mileage is 125k.
Today, i went to mieneke for transmission flush.
Becasue i dont know when it was changed by the former owner.
So I wanted to do that.
A worker at meineke, he asked like.
you have problem...such as error sign..or gear slip......
..I dont have any problems..
He asked again,,how many mileage you have..
125K..
He said do not flush as a his personal opinion..
The reason he said is that new oil could cause some slip and leaking,,some prolblems in your high mileage car.
So, I asked When is the time to change it?
You mean I could use it forever without flushing.. he said,,,YES!!!
It's weird to me .....................................
Is it real..????????????????
I want to hear many peoples's opinions.

there was a thread where they discussed this. if your car has high mileage, dont flush. and if it has been slipping, dont flush. but i think they said to change your tranny fluid every other oil change and to use honda atf.

Some people have posted that after they got a flush, their tranny actually died. There was another thread on this that explained it. It seems you need some of the crap thats floating around in your tranny fluid, or something like that.

it's not that you neec the old crap that's floating around, but all the little tiny metal shavings that are stuck to the walls and built up fluid will break loose getting stuck in your filter and hte tranny will over heat righ taway.

another problem is that the somewhat "solidified" ATF is what could be holding the clutchpacks together, and when you flush it, it's like using glue remover and shit just falls apart.

you guys gotta be kidding me.......leave the "gooo" in there? man, I just flushed it at 118K and the tranny seems to work just fine, if not better......................if the "goooo" is keeping your tranny in place, who knows WHEN its gonna go "kaput!" on ya. Better to change it and face the music instead of it dying while your on a date or something important.

maybe when you're dealing with domestic or other company trannies.. flushing is a good thing..

but when it comes down to Honda transmissions.. only time u should FLUSH is when u have SERIOUS tranny problems.. the goo actually saves the tranny

so dont do a complete flush.. especially if u have high mileage.. do a drain like everybody else tells u to do.. it will save u money in the long run

and remember!! use HONDA ATF! dont use dexron or any other brand.. it might be more expensive per qrt.. but its worth every penny

I bought a 98 CL 3.0 with 65k and had the tran fluid changed. The next day it started to slip, I thought I was screwed and needed a new tran. I didn't drive it for the weekend and on Monday it worked fine and hasn't given me any trouble since. I think there may be some risk involved if you have you fluid flushed, don't bother unless you have noticeable problems.
