Question How Much For Alarm Installation?

I need an alarm system becuase my car is going to start being kept outside and my friend said that he knows someone in the car audio business that can get me an AutoPage alarm system with keyless entry, remote start, and trunk opener for $320 installed. That sounds somewhat high considering I found a better alarm system by the same brand for $120 with better features. So $200 for installation? I know theres some work to it and you need it to work right, but idk what do you guys think? Good deal, or is he making too much $ off this?

Price is pretty decent. The shop i work at does 'em for higher but we use a different alarm system. You will need to hide an extra key in the car along with a bypass module for the remote start to work tho.

i typically charge around $175 for alarm, remote start, keyless for basic cars, and $200 for cars with manual transmission. Our cars are not exactly the easiest to put alarms in. There are about 5 or 6 wires underneath the passenger seat that must be tapped in order to have the alarm work properly. An in order to get to these wires, you gotta take out the passenger seat.

An immobilizer bypass must be used for all CLs due to the chips in the keys. One key will be placed in a black box (the immobilizer bypass) that is hidden in the dash somewhere.

So for $320, that really ain't to bad of a deal. You figure $200 for the install (as long as it was done correctly and neatly, and you don't have a hornet's nest under your dash), and $120 for the alarm/remote start. I'd go for it as long as you know that they installer knows what the hell he's doing.

Any of the new Acura's are complicated to install an alarm on. The 1st Gen CL is especially funky because you gotta take the pass. front seat out to get to the factory alarm wiring. This is what we charge customers at our shop.

$80 basic labor for security

$155 basic labor for security with remote start (includes hood pin)

+$57.50 for keyless entry
+$35 for lightflash
+$35 for factory disarm
+$22.50 to remove pass. seat
+$35 for extended range antenna in windsheild
+$35 for tunk pin
+$50 for immobilizer bypass (remote start only)

This is labor only.
