How the hell do you do it...?

I was browsin through some of the pics in the gallery up top, and I honestly just don't see how some of your CLs looke as crisp and clean as they do.

The cars are going on 10 years (for some) and they just look freaking brilliant as if they're straight off the lot.

For those of you who know what i'm talking about, how the hell do you do it? What's your 'secret' per say?

Wash, wax, buff, polish, rinse and repeat. Basically a lot of love for the car.

I normally spend over 3 hours detailing the car inside and out, including the engine bay.

I used to have my car squeaky clean and shiny but then i got rear-ended twice, keyed soooo many times, and a lot of abuse from inconsiderate people around school so now it's not so nice anymore... considering a paint job lately.

i'm a that's just how i roll. upkeep, upkeep, upkeep. a daily wash can work wonders, bird shit/dirt can ruin your paint if left on for an extended period of time. other than that add a few mods and make the cl look

Although I want to, I find it very hard to justify putting mods into a car w/ 106k miles on it already.

i started modding at 140k+. 106k is broken in you don't have to dump boatloads of cash on mods just a few subtle mods can make a world of difference. for example blackhousings. inexpensive, and looks badass.....

If you are talking about paint condition and things, check out the wash and wax section of this forum. You'll find your sell picking up a porter cable random orbital buffer for paint correction.

Clay bar, washing and waxing can really bring out the life of your paint. Course i'm not one to talk, my CL's been in pieces for a LONG time

I've only had mine for two weeks now at 105,000 miles it looks flawless. 1 owner before me, non smoking female who didn't drive it hard and kept it garaged. People have come up to me and asked me if it was a new kind of acura lol. I'm like no... its a 10 year old kind of acura thats still freaking amazing.

I have always had MAD respect for the 1st Geners on this forum. I have always tried to keep my car clean, but after I bumped a trailer hitch and bent my hood I have kind of given up on her. My clear coat is peeling off, and my front end is all messed up from the accident.

But alot of these guys on here have beautiful looking cars. And take a lot of pride in their cars. Which is why even when my CL is gone I will be an Aziner 4 Life !!

He works for a freakin detail shop and his paint looks like shit He complimented on how shiney mine was and I told him his could look the same if he just gave it a good clay, and did some paint restoration, waxing and sealing. Shit if I worked for a detail shop I'd have em pimp my whip up

My CL isn't as old as some of you 1st gen CL's, but its still 6 years old and people still think its new. I did have the hood and front bumper repainted recently...but even before that people thought it was new. My secret? Wash it often...detail it every 4 months or so and put on a good wax after that (black magic in my case).

I actually quit there a while ago. The guys were assholes. I took my wheels and gtfo there. Unfortunately I left before they could buff it and all that fun stuff. Oh well.

just wash your car regularly and then wax polish every other month, you'll be fine

and then clay bar once every 4-6 months

Take care of your car and it will take care of you. Even if you don't have the time to wash the exterior all too often, clean the inside. Cleaning the car is my stress reliever haha

And in dealing with the modding, 160k is prime time to mod. I'm @ 218k and I'm too scared now. I'm getting a new car in a year or so, but the Honda guy told me not to bother trading mine and to keep it as a spare...so maybe I could still mod it out haha

*FYI (not that you would, but if you're thinking about it) NEVER put a bra on your car. NEVER! My paint under the bra comes off in chunks! Now I have no choice but to keep it on, that way no one knows that it's all screwed up.

My back bumper is horrific. A nice ass inch or two cut into it, than scrapes ALL over, than someone hit it cause I can see the license plate HOLE outlines like i paired up the length between the dots to my moms car and its the same with so someone with a license plate bracket on the front hit it. I think Im going to go through my insurance next year to get a new bumper or get it repainted cause its technically a hit and run. Im just hoping someone lightly runs into me or something than they pay for it.
