How do I install an aftermarket CD player in to my 97 2.2 CL?
Help me install an aftermarket CD player in to my 97 2.2 CL? I am having trouble getting the manufacture's stereo out. I need to know where the screws or what not are to get the old stereo out. I would like some diagrams or something to explain it to me.
Thank a lot!

not true at all, atlest for my 99 3.0. Just hooked up the aftermarket harness to the one that came w/ the head unit and I was good to go. Basic plug and play

on a 99 you have to take off the whole center console too
do a search w/ my name and stock headunit and there is a link in one of them that gives detailed instructions

Now when taking out the radio and putting the new one in...how do you do that? My 98 doesn't have any slot to make it fit in perfect. It just hangs there squeezed by the sides. How to I get it to stay there securely and have no skipping when I go over bumps?

gotta make custom brackets... use some metal strips from home depot and drill out some holes and screw in the head unit... kinda copy the stock bracket that attaches to the lower mounting area with the 2 screwbolts. try to fabricate something like that so you can use the compartment and have a flush mount stereo.
