HOLY CRAP!! Best MPG ever!!
ok, so I went on a camping trip with my gf last weekend, and I did a crapload of highway driving. I live in denver, CO which is about 5500 ft above sea level, and we were going up into the mountains. Reached 9000+ ft for a bit driving between 30 and 60 mph on some switchbacks in third gear (about 5% of tank.) Most of the rest was highway cruising between 50 and 70 mph in 4th gear, a little bit of 90mph plus driving. Also since my power dropped like a rock at those altitudes and with all teh weight in the car I did some sporty driving after I got back down to denver since I got the power back.
ANYWAYS, to the POINT. On my next fill up which was 13.9 gallons, I had made 410 MILES!!!! That's 29.8 MPG!!!! I usually get like 19-21 mpg due to all my city driving and sporty driving. I had no idea I could get mileage THAT good. Now I love this car even more.

I got 370 on 13 gals which is 28.5 on 50/50 city highway which I'm really impressed with. Most of my freeway speeds were 80-90 and I did some spirited driving testing the new suspension + a few cases of WOT.
Full freeway I bet I could hit 32-33. I'm going to try to take this next tank fairly easy to see how she does.

Can't wait to drive my CL

I have the 99 2.3 and when I drove from CA to WA I got close to 600 miles on a tank... I thought it was really good gas mileage, although it was ALL freeway driving in 5th gear about 5-10mph over speed limit, I usually average high 20's low 30's depending on driving

I keep hearing about our 17 gallon tanks but I've never put in over 14 even after riding under E for 40-50 miles.

i've gotten a consistent 28.5mpg over the last month of driving
the most mileage i've done on one tank was 735 kms which is 456 miles
and that fill was the most i ever got, which was 60 liters or 15.85 US gallons
but i drove with the gas light on for about 50km, and i was starting to get a little scared
guess i don't have a reserve tank either, cuz the needle never comes back up

that's assuming 17 gallons, most people on here think when they hit their reserve that it's empty

Side note, for my last tank, I got ~53.7 miles, iirc. And that was like 14.6 gallons... Broken something ftl...

Mine doesn't do that either... I don't even get a light. Ohh, and btw, I ran out of gas the other day and walked it across the parking lot from the bowling ally to fill it up and it only filled up 15 gallons, pumped the handle again and it overflowed a little like usual.. Does my reserve work?

more than 15 is easy, i just said i did about 15.85, and that's conservative cuz there was no engine sputter or anything, i could go longer, but i don't really wanna run out of gas anywhere

Not a typo... I drove ~53 miles (charted) on a tank of gas. Actual traveled distance was probably closer to the average 375-400 miles, but still... As for this tank, I'm about halfway though, and I think I've charted about .2 miles... Again, the actual distance I've gone is probably closer to 200 miles, but something is all kinds of f-ed up, and my speedo (and therefore trip and odometer) only work part of the time...
