HID Headlight Filter?

I was looking at my friends 99 TL and saw that he has a HID Filter for his headlights.. like this

and thought maybe it can be fitted into our housings...

The headlights are a bit different... but the TL HID filter looks suitable. This would obviously be done so you can cut out all that glare. What do u guys think?

well the main point of this would be just like the projector retro fit... to filter the light so there is no glare.

Interesting idea, give it a shot, use a spare set of HL's though.

ewwwww...I think the filters make em look cheap and crapy. Projectors are the only way to go IMO!

wont do anything for glare... that is a parabolic reflector setup... the reflector behind the fluted lens is still giving the light the proper cutoff, the fluted lens just helps distribute the light properly. So sticking a fluted lens in front of a CL reflector will not do much good for you, unless you swap the TL reflectors in as well.

Projectors would probably end up being cheaper as the TL headlights usually sell for a good chunk of change and a "good" set of projectors can be had for $100.

Cheaper way of getting decent output... notice how the 02-03 TLs had free-form reflectors... looks much nicer.

The filter reminds me of older cars..

I don't know if it would fit in our headlights but I've seen a Civic headlight (EK?) retrofitted with G35 reflectors.
