Angry HELP!!! Transmission problem after accident

Hey guys, I need help, I have a Acura 2.3. I got in an accident 2 weeks ago. Car got hit in the front, and side. Impact wasn't that much. After the accident my transmission seems to be slipping, and not shifting properly between gears. The RPM would go up and it would finally switch gears. It does this between all gears. The insurance company doesn't want to cover it because the shop said "it is unable to communicate with on board system" to see what the problem could be, and That I would have to pay 600$ to bring it down and open it so the insurance company could determine if it was from the accident. What do i DO!!! Car was running fine before accident. How do I prove this was cause of the accident. Thanks guys

exact thing happened to me: your trans is dead, pay the 600 to have your shop (a good and friendly shop) open it up -- if it never did it before, they'll be able to tell/prove it was caused by the hit.
it's pretty f'd up that they put ppl in this situation, when a fwd car gets hit right in the trans jaw, and it's obviously from the hit.

sh1tty, the only thing im worried about is paying the 600$ to bring it down and they decide not to fix it, because so far the body work came up to 4600$, im gonna try bringing it somewhere else to see if they can run a diagnostic test. The transmission wasn't touched in the accident.

not directly. let me guess, you got hit (at least partially) in the front wheel, right?
first off, 4600 is totalled or close to it, right? the 2000+ they'll have to tack on for a trans rebuild will put it over the top for sure.
i was nearly in the same exact boat, only 25 hundred or so in body damage though, and in limbo for a long time about whether to open it up for 800 to prove the hit caused it. what made me go for it in the end (wisely) was the car never missed a shift before the hit, and i stood to rightfully get another 2500 to cover my trans damage -- i'm guessing your trans never acted up before the hit either. i ended up right under the totalled line.
they can't tell/prove shit without opening it up. if i were you with 4600 in body damage already, i'd be hesitant too, b/c you're only going to be able to max out at what like 5K; but knowing what i know from my experience, i'd go for it anyway to get everything i rightfully had coming. best of luck.
