Help with Radio

I just had a new battery installed yesterday in my '97 2.2 CL. Ever since, the radio just says " Err-3 " and it won't work. I don't have a manual. Can anybody help me?

Thanks.

thanx for the link. so... after some research I found out that I might as well stick this radio directly up my ass, OR pay a dealership to dig out the serial number and get the code. At this point I might as well just buy a new radio.

Needless to say, this will be the LAST piece of sh1t acura I EVER buy.

It's nice to get an aftermarket head unit anyway. I know you've had other problems, but just because you didnt get the code when you bought the car or lost it doesn't make an Acura a "piece of sh1t" in the least. It's a reasonable security feature.

Don't blame Acura....blame the person or dealership you bought it from that didn't give you an owners manual and the security code.

You're right. It was my frustration that led to such an ignorant post. Not acura's fault... although I can't see the threat of anybody stealing a stock radio from a 6 year old car.

this is a rediculous security feature. When i found out the same way you did that mine had this i was irrate. Who cares if the person who steals your stereo can use it or not? I don't give a fuck. If he steals my stereo i at least want him to enjoy it. Instead every time i do work on my car that includes disconnecting the battery i have to put this code in. God forbid I lose the sheet i wrote it down on.

well, i dont know about you, but if i was going to steal radios from old cars i wouldnt bother reasearchign first, theft deterrant only works if the person comitting the theft is educated....

right, and everyone knows that educated people don't steal shit...dumb ass people do. which is why they stole a radio that doesn't work. Anyway, I had the same problem just after i got my acura...it wasn't bad cause it gave me a good excuse to get a nice stereo system put in.

radio code stuff

Hey there guy,
I was just going to let you all know that there was a sticker on the underside of my ashtray drawer thing when i pulled it out that had my radio code on it. It looked to be all factory and what not. I had read somewhere that there is a sticker somewhere on all of the cars and it was up to the dealer where to locate the sticker. Hope that this helps you all.
