HELP I BROKE SOME Instrument Gauge Lights

I need to know what to get since i broke two of the bulbs that light up the R and the D4 in the cluster and since I'm in there i would change them to blue. I thought they were 74's and you could just pull them out and just throw a new bulb in there. I was WRONG. now its really confusing when i back up because i have to look down and its just really gay. help me fix this i just need to know how to get a new bulb on the circuit board since obviously i already went on an adventure inside the cluster and was lucky enough not to render it useless. just need a little guidance

^^^ does it NEED to be LED?

If not, swap it with another light on the board, or see if honda/acura might be able to sell you that part. If you are going with LED (its been years), but come up with a custom way to get the led on there with resistor. Much like you would for anyother light in the CL (example cruise control, or moonroof light). Trust me, if i can do it you can too, i've seen the stuff you've done, this shouldn't be hard at all for you chris.

these bulbs are the wierdest thing i've seen. The dont have a base to them. They are like a christmas tree light would be the best similarity. They have the glass bulb and two wires comming out of the bottom. The wires are ran down the rubber tube that holds the bulb and at attached to the board. I have no idea what kind of bulb it is, never seen it before in my life.

Weird, but they're long enough down the tube, that I could do a resistor up the tubing and LED at the top?

hey mach...i just bought a double din head unit and it has all blue leds.....and looking at your set up it would be nice to go with blue led's all over...but I have a couple of questions...

Does the green tint to the OE console light come from the bulbs color or the console itself emits the greeness of the yellow bulb on the board???

When you soldered the resistor on which contact leg of the led did you solder it...does it even matter???

I know for sure that the LED will not light up if the wires are swapped.....I did install some LEDs on my car just the corner lights, rear lincense plate lights, interior cabin lights and door lights...

some help would be appreciated...

Yes, you could. I found it easier to do it externally on the bottom, but I was using the tube type resistors though and not flat mount, I imageine with flat mounts everything will be easier.

You can get them from the dealer for about $3.00 ea. The entire rubbery thing with bulb pulls right off, and the new one slides on the terminals.
