i have a 97 cl 2.2. i want to ditch the motor for a k20a. ive had a couple buddies say the transmission is compatible and others say its not. who is right? and one more question. does anybody have a k20a for sale? id be willing to trade motors.

 

well no one has ever put a k in a cl as far as we know.

and no the trannies are not interchangable.

yesterday i read something about a k series head on an h block. idk if its actually been done yet.

 

also no one will trade a K20 for F series

 

1. k motors are expensive, i hope you know that
2. work required to get a k motor working in a cl is gonna be damn expensive, unless you and your buddies are gonna be doing it
(but i dunno, if some of your buddies said the trannies are interchangable, i don't think i'd trust them) Not tryna be an ass or anything, just tryna hep you out so you don't end up an expensive motor that does nothing

ayo rick i wanted to do a k series swap in my 99 its not worth it and i was going to get the swap for 2 g's it still wasnt worth it and i got the resources to do it all my own at my shop i mean in the long run it would be an amazing swap but just not worth it to me to me at least just my opinion

 

I'd love to see a K swap, but I doubt anyone will do it.

 

You would want a K24, not a K20.

also because of the lack of power, the k20 is meant for a small light car(ie RSX or new civic) not the 3k + lbs CL.

Unless as someone said before you'd want the k24 if you were going to get a k motor.

 

k20a with tranny and ecu and shifter will run you 5k+ so its prolly worth more than bluebook on a cl
i have been looking into doing this for awhile and a few weeks ago i found the motor on craigslist for 3k and it turned out to be a complete scam! im glad i didnt send a money order to this person lol
and my wife wont let me do anything that big rite now cause we just bought a house so maybe next year?

 

k20a = for a CL. Trannies are not interchangeable, and noone will be willing to give u a k series for an F22 or F23. Hasport does however make mounts for the cd5 accord for a k swap, which might work on a CL also.
