Help with 3.0cl PLEASE!!!!
Hello everyone. Thanks ahead of time for your help.
My brother has a 1997 acura 3.0cl that he blew the motor of (still ran but with a rod knock).
I had a buddy of mine put another motor from the same year and same model into his car. Now the problem is that the car cranks over but wont start!! I did get the motor to start by putting fuel straight into the intake manifold and of course once the fuel burned out the car shut off.
This is the list of things in checked....
-The car has spark.
-It does have fuel and is seems to be getting to the fuel rail.
-I put the fuel pressure regulator from the old motor in and still nothing.
-I went and bought a brand new main relay from the dealership today and still nothing( if anyone wants to buy it lmk i paid $80 for it let it go for $50 shipped).
-Checked all the fuses.
-Checked that he plugged everything along with the grounds.
-There is power to the injectors.
What could it be!!!

I read that your injectors are getting fuel, but I just want to be 100% certain on that so I can rule it out.

clogged fuel filter maybe? Id check the fuel pressure before doing anything else.

My girlfriend had the car for a year with no problems. In that year that she had it i changed the oil every 3k along with the oil filter.
I also changed the the plugs, air filter and the egr valve that was clogged. So while i had the car it was taken care of. My brother only had the car for 2 weeks and he says it just started to make noises which ended up being what i believe (i didn't hear the noise in person this is going by what he said) a rod knock.
The oil was at the exact level its supposed to be at after the motor was blown.

The pressure should be 210 - 250 kPa (2.1 - 2.6 kgf/cm2, 30 - 37 psi.) Be sure to relieve the fuel pressure before attaching the gauge. If you need help on how to check the pressure let me know. Good luck.
