Hello from Afghanistan
Hey guys,
Just giving a quick what's up from Afghanistan!
Just got here yesterday, and I'm just now getting settled in after hitting the ground running. I won't be on very much for the next 4-5 months, but I'll be popping in from time to time.
For those of you who were wondering, I was in and out of here last week while I was in Kyrzykstan, only because they had wi-fi. That was for a couple of days transition from the US to here.
But where I'm at now has no wi-fi, so it's hard to get on a computer here. I won't be on that much, so I'll probably be back on regularly around Sept/Oct timeframe.
Take it easy,
Dan

Thanks guys!
It's a crazy time here, but it's all good. They gave us M-16s with plenty of ammo, so it's good times.
I'm around plenty of people from the Army, they're here as well.
Seymour isn't bad, just summers are hot and humid, and the goldsboro area isn't the greatest. Winters are pretty mild, I think I wear my gortex once in blue moon, usually I get by with a sleep shirt under my ABU top.
The beach is only about an hour away, and Raliegh is decent. They're actually building new maintenance hangers for the 916th/911th, so the facilities should be good to go.
But overall, they don't call it Shady J for nothing man, lol.
