Headlight question

i just got the clear bumper lights for my car and when you look at them and the headlights you could tell the stock headlights are more "foggy" than the new crystal clear bumper lights.....esp the parking light on the side of the headlight....is there a new peice or headlight that i can buy so the match and it looks a lil bit better?....its not a big deal i just thnk it would look better if the were both cystal clear

Nothing fits perfectly, but headlight conversions have been done with some modifications.

How many highway miles are on your car? The headlights look foggy probably because of years of sandblasting at highway speeds. I didn't realize how bad mine were until I got in an accident and had to have the passenger headlight replaced. The difference is rediculous. The older one with 150K on it barely allow light to shine through it. Time to get a new one to match, I guess. You can get one here:

last weekend, i took some plastic polisher that acura gave me a few years ago when i got the car and sprayed it on the headlights. after a few minutes, i buffed it off, and WAS THERE A BIG DIFFERENCE. the chrome inside actually LOOKED like chrome on the outside! it hurt my eyes when the sun reflected off of it i went ahead and did the clear bumper lenses and taillights too, looks absolutely crystal clear. give that a try, shouldnt be more than a few bucks at your local shop.

Yeah using a plastic polish and then follow with a plastic safe wax will do wonders for the headlights.

I recommend using a polish first (only takes a min). Some cases you might not need to sand paper the headlights. I believe you should try to use the material that takes off the least first.

probably same amount of time... the problem is the light from ur headlight is getting refracted because of all the small chips and dents on the outside of the headlight. The polish might clean off the outside but the chips and dents remain. but polish first it might work.

It is either that or the polish u got has fillers in it. Where it covered up the chips and scratches and then when they washed off they exposed the suckers again. Hmm I think to think of one that doesn't have one and is easy to find in stores. I would say meguilars but you should call them and ask. They have a number and are able to answer u questions really fast.

Basically in working at Advance, there's a product by Meguiars called Plastic Lens Cleaner. It's a small light blue or white bottle that's almost seven dollars. Customers claim that it does wonders. It actually clears up the "yellowish residue" on the headlights.

But yeah I posted the how to on the sanding/buffing technique. That is mainly for those who have really bad discoloration with deep grooved dents and scratches like I did.

Anyways good luck.

Yea i used to polish and wet sand my old headlights all the time. The Meguair's product athlon mentioned is good stuff. But eventually i got tired of it, and just bought new headlights.
