Header fitment on 98 acura 2.3CL??

I was wonderinf what the header fitment on this car is. Everyone seems to say something diffrent. Do I use the 94-97 accord headers or the 98+ headers(since it has the same engine) or do they both fit?? What about cat back exhausts? Some people say the 94-97, some say the 98+ cuz its the same engine....
It someone would clear this up, it would be much appreciated...

headers should be the same as the 94-97 accord. i'd personally stay away from the 98 ones b/c i dont know if they changed the chassie layout or anyhting. same for the exhaust. stick to the 94-97 accords. the only improvements for the 98 cl's was the f23, and the nicer looking center console which i must say the 97 people got screwed on.

yes we got screwed. acrura wants 95 for the center and another 10 for the chrome around the shifter. listen u buy the header for a 94-97 ACCORD EX!!!!!! EX!!!!! i would buy ceramics if i was u. they are lighter then the stainless ones. and we need all the weight reduction we can get for our I4s. the dc part # is hhc5017. if u dont have a cai and cat back u really wont gain much at all. if u do have either of them u will get back a good amount of the low end u lost from them. if u get 4-1 then u will loose even more low end but ull get a good gain up top. if ur gonna drop ur car real low buy stainless to be safe. ceramics crack easy if hit. install is pretty easy, but can be a bitch. i would buy some new gaskets from acura. i have the part #'s if u want them. also some kind of spray to break down the rust on the old bolts will make ur job easier. im done typing. go to my site and get my # if u want to knwo more. ill gladly help u out.

im not sure if they are correct but from what i know the 2.2 cl uses the 97 acccords....but for the 2.3 you would use the 98+ accords...because the 98 accords engine is f23a1 and ours is f23a4...not many differences in the engine...so in my opinion i would go for the one that fits the f23 engine...but dont hold me on it...

i doubt the reason there is a diff headre for 98+ accords is cuz of th eengine. it is prob the body style. or 02 senor placement or somethin like that. call dc. i just looked at the pic. they are identical excpet for the second piece where it hooks to the cat. the hhc5018 have a hanger on them and some kind of extension. looks like it replaces the part where the 02 sensor is on my car. no matter which one u get they will work fine. the ? is the 02 sensor. on my car the header ended before the o2 senor section, but the 98+ accord header from dc keeps going. so it either makes a new place for the 02 or u guys dont have ur 02 down there.

to sum up what i mean real easy.
94-97 accord ex dc 4-2-1 cc header hhc5017 will bolt on perfect and the down pipe bolts up to small section of pipe between the cat and the down pipe. (this section is where the o2 sensor is on a 97 2.2cl or accord ex)

98+ 2.3cl and accord I4 dc cc header hhc5018 will also bolt up perfectly. its down pipe bolts up to the cat and has the small section of pipe that is seperate on my 97cl. where the 02 sensor goes is beyond me. im not 100% if its down there or not.

EASY way to figure out what u need. look under ur car and look at the down pipe of the stock header. does it bolt directlt to ur CAT??? if so get the 98 hhc5018. it will be bolted with 3 bolts in a triangle pattern. if not and it bolts to a small section of pipe before the cat that has the o2 sensor sticking out of it. buy the 97 hhc5017. it will be bolted together with 2 bolts across from each other.
