i think me means that the code for your stock head unit has nothing to do with your new head unit if you were to get a new one.

i think it depend on which one you buy... my teacher has a aftermarket sony deck and his has anti-thft which you need to enter if you unplug your battery.. but when you buy an aftermarket deck if it has anti-thft they will give you the code if it not then it a plug and play =]

good luck.
get alpine.

Alright, depending on how much power, it may drain your battery but theres certain things available to prevent that from happening. I dont know much about it so Ill let someone like Chris chime in, he essentially did mine. You will definately NOT need any codes for your new headunit.

If the battery dies, you will lose your clock and audio eq settings, that's it, pretty much all AM head units don't have lock codes
