Having electrical problems... PLEASE HELP
so i was driving one night, and my blinker switch/light switch started clicking like crazy, then i smelled electrical fire type smell coming from the switch. my lights are stuck on along with my brights..... i disconnected my brights from the bulb so they are not on all the time.
i ordered a new switch put it in, and it didnt help at all.
i need to pull my bat cable every time i park to shut my lights off. its getting old and i need a fix.
any recommendations on what to do?
i fix everything myself and despise taking my car in to get fixed but i have no clue as to whats going on with my car....
do i take it in, or do one of you know a way i can fix this.
thank you sooo much...

Replace the relay, that's your prob it's drawing directly from the battery

thanks. ill try it.
i was at auto zone, and when i picked up the switch i put it in right away, and then i asked the guy if they have relays, he said theres no way a relay could cause that.
i said. ok do you have this relay and he said no.
but yea.
off to another auto parts for the relay.
ill let you know the outcome....

it works like this. power comes from the battery to the relay, then that power goes to the lights. The switch will activate the relay, which will send that power from the battery to the lights.
an easy way to test the relay is remove the head light relay and replace it with another relay that has the same amount of contacts. if this solves the problem. its the relay.
if not, it'll take some actual diagnostic work with electrical tools to find the cause.

There sure are, I believe they're behind the radio, that's where the horn relay is
