Having an acceleration issue

I have no idea whats goin on, but it seems like if i come around a corner and gun it, it bogs down then it almost feels like i have nitrous. The engine just kicks in and goes. It doesnt really bog, it just does not go anywhere.

Would a dirty airfilter be the culprit? I have no clue.

slipping tranny :dunno:

SwervinCL 01-25-2006 10:10 PM

5 speed

SwervinCL 01-25-2006 10:10 PM

could it be a clutch issue?

edit:

maybe a fuel filter or fuel pump.

SwervinCL 01-25-2006 10:28 PM

If it were that wouldnt it be all the time rather than just around a corner?

Im clueless.

Smalls 01-25-2006 10:31 PM

not necessarily. (sp?) Since you are giving it more gas after a turn, its suffocating itself more and hesitating more.

Smalls 01-25-2006 10:31 PM

what happens if you gun it while going straight?

SwervinCL 01-25-2006 10:32 PM

Its fine. Beat a neon this morning on the way to work with no problems (other than lack of traction)

NauTiC* 01-25-2006 11:14 PM

lol @ you having to spank a Neon to know that your CL was ok.. Poor Neon.

I had kind of had a similar problem. I was going through the canyons by my house, on a turn i down shifted going into the turn and then when all of a sudden it seemed that my rev limit kicked in. but i was only at 4000 rpm, and had to immediately shift. I changed my oil the next day and haven't had that problem again.

yup, its the oil like i said. Vtec require oil to run properly. Without enough, it feels like youve disconnected the solonoid for a bried second ..and once the oil sloshes back to level, it kicks in.
