Has anyone done a DIY on spring installations?
I was wondering if there was a DIY on spring installations b/c i'm lookin to finally get some drop on my 4x4. I looked through the DIY section and didn't see anything. I was also wondering if a spring install is something that can be done fairly easily by a novice mechanic. I understand that a spring compressor and large jack are needed and I was wondering if those are things that can be rented from a local automotive parts store, like say Advance Auto Parts.
I'd love to install the springs myself just because I like to take pride in my work and my car but if it is something that I won't be able to easily do by myself with the help of some friends I may end up just taking it to a local shop and fork over the big bucks to have them install it for me.
~Thanks

Thanks for the DIY, sorry i missed it.
For all you people who have done your own springs, is it really difficult to do? I'd love to be able to do it myself but I don't want to hurt my car or myself by taking on a task too large to handle.
