H22A Swap...Help!!!

Okay, I am new here and I have read different threads for the past two hours on H22A swaps. I am glad to be around such knowledgable CL-Lovers like myself!!!
My questions are now surfacing.
I have a 99 2.3 CL and have had the worst shit happen to me. I took my car to the dealer because of a noise (vibration) in the clutch and my check engine light came on. Acura told me that I had a dent in my oil pan andit was blocking my VTEC so I should replace it and my VTEC would stop FAILING. So, I thought the clutch was going out as well, so I bought a STAGE 2 ACT Clutch, a CLUTCHMASTERS flywheel, and an oilpan. Pulled the oilpan, only to find the remains of a thrust bearing in my oilpan, along with metal shavings and my Oil feeder screen clogged with metal=blocking VTEC=burning up internals..OUCH!!!!!! .
So, I have decided to swap engines at this time with a JDM H22A motor!!!

1. I have researched and found Soko.com=$1390.00 for the H22A. Does anyone know of a reputable Japanese importer? HELP!!!! I have to order engine in 2 days TOPS!
2.Will the 99CL tranny, fit perfectly and utilize the maximum hp of the H22, or do I have to have the ludes tranny?
3. The ECU, do I need the Preludes? Does that come with the engine? Can I use CLS?
4. Is the CLs axles strong enough?

5. Will my DC Header fit the H22?

Sorry for all the questions, but I need some help!! I am looking forward to being a member here, and will post pics as the work is done. This is happening THIS WEEK!!! No question!! Any last minute tips that I should know WOULD BE GREATLY APRRECIATED!! Are these engines 100% swappaple? What pisses me off is My fookin engine only had 60,000 miles on it!!!
Here is a pic of my car last year?.(Sorry post is so long!!!) Thanks in advance!!

So, the oil pickup was blocked from the metal shavings from the crank rubbing aganist the journals, which caused the motor to starve from lack of oil.

1.Try to get it locally, if your in a rush.
2. The cl tranny will bolt up, no problems.
3. You will use the prelude ecu, you should convert to obdI.
4. Lude axels are not a must in the begining, but would be worth it in the long run. I'd stick with the cl axels if your short on cash.
5. The header will not fit.

Some reccomendations, go with a pre 97 block, being that it's closed deck, and stronger. You will need a jumper harness, and the p13 ecu.

If you never tackled an engine swap, I'd highly recommend you take your car to a good shop that specializes in honda motor swaps.

make sure you use a obd2-obd1 converter. dont let the shop talk you into rewiring it because its a holy bitch to do and you will be sorry if isnt done 100% right.
You will need a either a prelude drivers side axle, or you will need the intermediate shaft and axle from the f22. only the prelude axle will fit on the intermediate shaft on the h22. Its also good to have the downpipe from the h because its a weird fit and the stock one wont fit. The JDM header is acutally almost as good as all the aftermarket ones so i would just stick with it for now. baka_t pretty much sumed everything else up. post any other questions here and we will be glad to help you.

I would definately consider BOTH selling the engine, and the ECU. I am not sure what parts I will need off of my CL, but I will definately keep you informed throughout this week. Would it be safer to go ahead and get the whole front clip of the Lude? What do you mean by pre 97 is stronger? How can I tell the difference in a pre97 and other H22A engines? I do have a mechanic that works at Mitsubishi Dealer. He is THE SHIT!!! Very good prices. Whole swap for $$450.00 labor!! I would not have any idea of where to start when swapping an engine.
Are there any components that I should change out with the swap...just to be on the safe side? How can I telll that the engine I buy haS NOT BEEN RAPED? I appreciate the prompt responses!! They ARE HELPING ME ALOT!! Would anyone be interested in my DC Sports Header? I haven't even had it for a year? Approximately 8,000 miles.

Are getting the axles really necessary for the swap because I thought the 5spd CL axles worked fine with the H22a. You will get shorter gear ratios if you use the prelude transmission so it would be faster off the line than using the CL tranny. Most people that keep the CL tranny with their H22 are planning to take advantage of the longer gear ratios by going fuel injection. The H22a transmission would be the better one to use unless you plan on putting alot of money into the H22a (internals, turbo, ect).

The pre 97 (92-96)h22's are closed deck design, the 97's up are open deck.

yes the headers should fit.. The difference in a closed deck and open deck is with the head off, the closed deck th only hole you see is the cylinder hole, with the open deck, there is the hole for the cylinder, adn then there is a water jacket ( a gap) around the top portions of the cylinders. and yes closed deck is better for turbo

So even without a Turbo, the 93-96 motors are better? I am trying to get a motor ordered today, however I am having a hard time deciding who to order from. Does anyone have a TRUE Japanese Importer that they can recommend? I need a solid engine that does not have to be rebuilt. I am looking for a 93-96 H22A. I also need the ECU for the prelude. Does the ECU HAVE TO be chipped(before I put the engine in?)

The list I have thus far that I will need:
1.H22A motor
2.Prelude ECU
3.Greddy Timing belt
4.H22A waterpump
5.H22A oil pump
6.Skunk2 Cam gears
7.??Skunk2 obdII~to~OBDI conversion box.????
8. New motor mounts????

What I have now:
1.ACT Stage II Clutch
2.ClutchMasters Flywheel
3.Vibrant Short Ram Intake.

Any ideas of what else I will need?
And Froggystyle, I definately will get in contact with you as soon as the Engine is up and running. Are there any more members in Knoxville? We could get a little meet going!

TIA Everyone for the help on this install.

You should buy a complete motor that comes with the motor and ecu.The ecu can be chipped whenever, I personally, wouldn't chip it at all. The jumper harness can be purchased from skunk2, or frog engine controls. All the mounts from the cl will work.

Although I haven't really dealt with them, I've heard good things about JDMsource. They are local here in Canada but they do ship engines worldwide. The website is www.jdmsource.ca
You should probably look into any local places that sell JDM engines before having one shipped in from somewhere else. With local places you get better product security, making it much easier for you if the engine has problems.

I heard that they might bolt up to the H22, so I am waiting to see. But if I sell them, I will put them up here, before I put them on Ebay!
