Theres been several threads on this topic. Do a search and you'll find more info.

But to answer your question the answer is NO they are two different blocks. Not to mention the h22a is DOHC and the f23a is SOHC. What can be done is putting a vtec h22a head on a h23 block. This will turn your non vtec h23 into a vtec and you'll have an extra .1 liter over an h22a.

it's not really about the .1 liter. It's the same thing as an LS/Vtec setu up. You'll have the bottom end torque then you would w/ the h22a, but you'll have the horsepower and benefits of vtec w/ the h22 head. There is alot more to it then this, but this is the basic.

Good luck getting the timing correct. With a SOHC the timing belt only turns one cam. The second cam will require a longer timing belt and possibly a new pulley on the crank to turn it and keep everything in time. You'll also have to have the ECU for the DOHC engine.

By the time you figure out how to do all of this and spend the $'s that it requires, you'd be better off getting the H22 block, head, and tranny.

HAHAHA.... too damn funny. I've maybe heard of it done... once ... but said it required massive modification and $$$ (cha ching).

Just buy a fookin h22a motor. Stop tryin to cut corners.

Hey cltyper! Grow up lil boy! Yes, I am a complete #$&*in moron. I really didnt think it could be done, but since a machinic told me "you can bolt it right on" i had ?'s. Don;t mean to be straight forward but i would love to see my nutz in your throat!!! AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA. HAHAHAHAHA. HAHAHAHAHA.

I am not trying to get around h22, but i am just trying to get the most outta my 2.3l with 65,000 miles on it. I would feel like i was wasting it if i just took it out. Ok so i wil spray the shit out of it before i do the swap. Chill out bro, don;t be so funny all the time!
