Grown to hate my '97 CL
I understand it has high mileage and a previous owner, but I've had the car for almost four months and once I fix something there will be something else that will need fixing. It has 113k miles and seemed like a great car when I bought it. I'm really tired of constantly being without a car because the alternator, struts, ac, or something goes out.
I'm fixing the last few problems and selling it and going back to a domestic car. I'm sorry... you can't stop me now.![Ecstatic](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/ecstatic.gif)
Oh by the way, anyone interested in a 1997 Acura CL black on black with 18" wheels? I'll sell for 6k. I'm in the Houston area.

acura essentially is domestic, not the enigne though, but you must of got a lemon
your problems will only increase, especially a ford
every1 seems to love their first gen (other than the the AT trannys)

hate to say it, but domestic cars suck ass --- everyone of them that i have had has broken down on me
the prelude-civic and now accord have been nothing but strong for me
prelude had 220,000 miles
civic had 375,000 miles
and my accord has 55,000 so far -- no problems at all
my buick and camaro broke down and were shittily made -- that is unfortunate for the US but we do not hold a cnadle it seems to the imports as far as longevity is concerned

It's a manual tranny, oddly enough thats probably the only part of the car that I haven't had a problem with.
I guess I got one hell of a lemon, the Ford I had to begin with before it was totaled never had one problem except for routine maintainance and it was a 98. :sigh:

That's what I thought, whole reason I bought the Acura in the first place was for their longevity without problems.

Funny I've owned two Fords and most of the people in my family own a Ford or a Ford own product and all this talk about how Fords can't compete blah blah blah seems to be a one minded opinion with some of the people on the board. In my personal experience I have had way less problems with my domestic car then I have had with my Acura. Given that this is based on one car isn't fair, but all I've heard were good things about the Acura and it didn't live up to all the hype.
...and Ford Focus

Drifting
I hate my 2.2 cl, and proud of it, but it serves it's purpous. When my hotrod ford truck, vw, and two old bmw's break down, I need somthing to drive. Not only that but in southern az, where it is 100 plus till 10 pm, I need somthing with ac. On top of all that it gets about 27 mpg doing 85-90 on road trips (my truck gets about 4, and the other cars would shurely break down between here and the next city).
When my acura breaks down, its somthing easy like the alternator, another accessory, or somthing like doorlocks and power windows. When my other cars break there is usualy a puddle of oil on the ground, and the smell of burning in the air.
If I sell it, for lets say 5 or 6k I'm limited to really old slightly beat up cool cars, which don't fit the reliability/ac bill, and other similar aged honda/toyota/(insert brand here). So I just do the best I can to fix things withought spending to much cash.
anyway, just another prospective on how to hate a car.
