GREDDY EVO2 Exhaust for 99'CL/ H22A DC SPORTS HEADER

I need help finding out what to do about my exhaust system with my 1999 Acura CL and a 1996 H22A Prelude motor with a DC SPORTS header.
Here is my dillemma

VEHICLE=99' CL
MOTOR=H22
HEADER=H22
GREDDY EVOII CATBACK EXHAUST=??????
What car should I buy the exhaust system for? I have searched online and cannot find a pic of the UNDERSIDE OF A PRELUDE to see the differences.... That would be the SHIT, if a prelude exhaust would fit a 99' CL, but I doubt it will. I wonder if any Accord exhausts will BOLT UP to the H22 Header. Does anyone have any suggestions? I do not want a custom exhaust, I want to be able to bolt that bitch right in!!!
TIA!!

I don't think you will ever be able to bolt "that bitch" right it. That bitch will have to be for an Accord since they don't make exhaust for CL's and that will have to be cut or extended, can't remember which, then it may or may not bolt up to the header, which would also mean cutting or extending of something.

Bosal. it goes from the header back. the only thing stock left is the headers and that cat with the wires coming out of it. workin on gettin that crap changed too. Q: if i buy headers does the cat come with it or is that a whole separate piece.

preciate ya pimpin. its the only bolt on ive found but it sounds REALLY good. now when i crank it up instead of the whine its a deep rumble and at high RPM its just beastly sounding. its not that loud tho. combined with the Weapon R intake i got that makes this loud vaccuum noise when i rev it up, make this bitch music. it also takes off all those extra shits that were on it and replaces it with one resonator. its 3 pipes instead of two(mine was only two pieces, yours maybe 3.) right now im lookin to get a dual canister put on. Weapon R makes a good one with 3" titanium tips. basically its two single tip mufflers welded together by a bracket.

oh and sorry for :thief: the thread.

If the H22 headers bolt up to your factory exhaust then its safe to assume you could use any other exhaust for the CL but they dont make one so do what everyone else does. Buy the 94/97 accord exhaust and have it cut or extended a few inches and you will be fine thats as close to bolt on as you will get. It should cost about $30.00 extra dollars to have it fitted. The only reason it really needs to be cut is so the tip will sit in the right spot. I think our rear bumper is shorter than the Accords.

NICE!!! That's what I wanted to hear. How will they bolt the exhaust to the flexpipe.. are you saying that all they will do is cut a portion out, to keep the flange? Or will they have to weld the cut portion to the flexpipe?
Thanks fellas.

Hey FABRIKATED... How does that EVO sound? I have never actually heard one, but I heard from others that it is the QUIETEST BY FAR!!
Can I get some suggestions on some comparable alternatives? I want to stay around the $500.00 range, and I want a quiet exaust that doesn't QUACK like a fookin duck when I hit the higher RPM's like my blown-out Aerospeed muffler does.

What other exhaust system gives that nice purrrr that the Greddy offers?

What up FROG! Yea, that is what I had before my motor blew, and that aerospeed muffler with 2 1/2 piping Sounded like shit! I have seen some mufflers that cost almost as much as the Greddy EVO catback, so I figure, if I have to pay 300-400 for a muffler, then I might as well get a full catback. Do you know of any decent mufflers... I don't know shit about exhausts....except that aerospeed BLOWS!! DO NOT BUY AN AEROSPEED MUFFLER!!!

i paid 500+ for my cat back but it was the only direct bolt on i could find. no welding required. its a deep sound but it is so damn quiet until i hit high RPM(4g+) im thinkin of gettin one of theseit has dual 3 inch tips so its not too big(mine now are dual 3s but i got that big ass muffler can.) plus i got the weapon R SRI and im happy with it so why not go with a weapon R muffler.

I am in the middle of the swap. right now.. Even though I am not going to be able to take pics of everything, I will definately be able to answer all of the questions that arise throughout the swap. I have gotten alot of help from these guys here, and very little from the local import shop.
Can anyone tell me why a 1997-2001 Prelude exhaust will not fit a h22 '96 header? Is the bending of the pipe different? I went to Honda today, and took pics of a '94 Accords exhaust system, and a 2001 preludes system.....
Now is where I start to bug people......

ANYONE WITH A 99 2.3L ACURA CL>>>>
CAN YOU PLEASE SEND ME SOME PICS OF YOUR EXHAUST SYSTEM??? MY EXHAUST IS COMPLETEY OUT AND I NEED TO COMPARE PICTURES OF THE WAY IT FITS ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. FROM THE HEADER(MANIFOLD) TO THE TIP.

PLEASE HELP!!! THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

(i KNOW SOMEONE OUT THERE HAS 5 MINUTES TO TAKE THEIR DIG CAMERA OUTSIDE, SNAP OFF A COUPLE PICS AND SEND THEM TO ME, PLEASE HELP!!!)

MY EMAIL ADDY

I did not see where they had them seperated. When I looked at the different model for different vehicles, they all had the same pic for an example. Where on their website are you talking about? Thanks.

I actually got the SP for an 00 accord cause I got a steal on ebay. I cut off the muffler and attached it to the mandrel bending I previously had. Came out super cheap that way. Even if I had gotten new piping done it would of been around $300 total.

okay heres the 97 accord http://www.nopionline.com/nopistore/...c=L0013351.JPG
97 prelude http://www.nopionline.com/nopistore/...c=L0013356.JPG
and if ya need it 95 prelude http://www.nopionline.com/nopistore/...c=L0013349.JPG

so there. if you say they look the same then hey, they might be the exact thing cuz the preludes had f22's in them before and they are the same thing except for maybe length. hope this helps
