I was on my way to a local bar last night and on my way a chevy SUV in front of me had a brake light out and i guess i was just like man fuck them so i passed them in a no passing zone and i got pulled over...the officer questiond me why i was in such a hurry and i was like ''yo homie its almost last call wtf'' no j/k he told me ANY MODIFICATION TO THE EXHAUST IS 100% ILLEGAL. I wasn't ticketed because exhaust modifications are common where i live and 75% of the big trucks around here are well over 103db anyway...i wanted to know if thats true what he told me or ust for my state...which is Louisiana...anyway he let me go with a warning...thank god he didnt notice my expired brake tag and didnt search me and find a quarter of louisiana's finest herbal remedy...anyone else got a nerve racking police encounter?

i could barely understand that... but ur only 19. do bars allow ppl under 21 in louisiana? i thought it was 21...? anyway.. if u got nothing to hide... and think that u did nothing wrong... a police encounter shouldn't be that nerve racking... just don't be stupid! as for the exhaust... i the law says any modification to the stock exhaust is illegal... it just depends how much of a jerk the cop wants to be.

i got pulled over twice for my 100% legal GReddy Evo2 by campus cops the other day. They said it was over 120dB which is BS cause the GReddy website says it only goes to 92dB. Plus they couldn't prove anything because they didn't have the tool to measure the dBs.

If any modification to the stock exhaust is illegal how is yours legal Jstoops? You only have to be 18 to get into a bar...21 to drink. my exhaust isnt very loud but im pretty sure the legal limit is 93 db....anyway i was just sharing my story...i'd love to hear some other police encounters

Pretty much any modification to your vehicle can be construed as illegal, depends on the cops in your area and if they have better things to do or not

question 97black aka chris....what about my AEM intake pipe? it has a CARB emitions sticker on it and it says 50 state legal on the box...is it just to sell more pipes? or is it really legal?

Intakes are only illegal in cali where they have carb emission exams as far as i know. That's why aem's have the carb sticker. Your intake won't get you in trouble, non amber bulbs, loud systems, dark tint, and obnoxious exhaust will get you in trouble.

yeah most of the cops in Louisianna are assholes, ive never been pulled over for pipes or tint, but i kno alot of people who have, btw what part of LA u live in?

nahh i dont kno anything about a back road, yea that would be cool to race something worthwile lol everyone either has a modded civic or eclispe/ i have a custom air intake, magnaflow muffler, tint, and thats about it, tranny cooler on the way and when i sell my soul lol maybe i can afford a drop and some rims,

I just passed emissions with my GReddy Evo2 exhuast on. Passed with flying colors actually. As long as its below the legal dB level and doesn't bypass the cat or throw any CELs its fine as far as i know in CT
