Ask your parents to see if they can hook you up with $2500 and then buy something nice! Dealers will be throwing themselves at you with a 10k down.

Biased view here, but go for the BMW. Decent power, awesome on the highway, good looks, fine interior finish... etc.
I don't find the WRX all that exciting. Crappy inerior, snowplow handling, lumpy motor, gearbox problems with some of the model years. It's got a turbo, and awd... yay. The shortcomings outweigh the rest of it imo.
The IS is a nice choice, even better in 5spd. Reliable, looks good. Too bad it's responsible for this whole altezaa tail light crap.
The A4 is gorgeous inside... but plagued by an anemic motor and stupid electrical problems that cost you downtime and tons of money to fix.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I'm gonna have to agree with the BMW.

I agree with the used M3. You can find them for a decent price these days on Ebay. You could even get a 328i and buy the M3 rims, debadge it and make it an M3 clone to save on insurance. But call your insurance agent and find out how much insurance would be on one - if you're paying $300 a month for the CL the M3 would have to be double that!

By the way - you mentioned a Jeep GC as an option. My other car is a '03 Grand Cherokee Limited with the V8. It's damn quick and looks great in my opinion - but I'm not impressed with the quality. It's all the little things like the rotors on these things warp every 10K miles, the front tweeters on them blow - I've replaced mine 3 times, another problem is the climate control systems break - mine only blows hot air out the passenger side - you have to completely remove the entire dash to fix it - a PITA - and it's over $750 to fix it at the dealer.... The engine is awesome but it's all the little things that shouldn't be breaking. I hate to say it but I don't recommend it.

Go M3!
