Going on a limb here. If I were to win the lottery... (noob question.)

I obviously won't win the lottery, but I've been searching for the past 1/2 hour or more on dreamy things.

For instance.
RWD swap... I couldn't find crap on it.. maybe because its a bit too pricey to do so nobody bothers, etc etc.

But I really am curious (not that I have the money or anything to pull it off) about RWD swaps and how much work that would take.

In a DREAM if I had an F20 s2000 engine and wanted to throw it in a CL would it even fit? How much extra crap would you need to do along with aside from all the custom mounting and framework and stuff, hell disregarding the F20, what do you need for a RWD swap?

anyone? ball park estimate? 10k + at least is my guess.

The engine would prob run close to 5g
blah blah blah

"It's not worth it yada yada yada."

Save your fingers some typing, I know.

I'm just curious.

Yup lots of money the labor alone would be ridiculous, I'm sure there would be cutting involved to run the drive train, plus you would need custom mounts, and your whole rear suspension would need redone with a dif keep dreamin

Yeah.... I had another dream last night: A turbo F22 or H22 swapped CL under my ownership. I think I'm gonna make it happen.

hmm im sure you'd have to cut alot of room for differentials, move the gas tank into possible the trunk, find a way to mount the f20.
im guessing well past the 15k mark of labor, parts. i'd rather just buy a used s2000 for that price.

check out this thread i made a few months ago:

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=192393

I went over alot of what your asking, but using a J30/J35. it's a better starting point imho since you already have a motor you can use.

Thanks man.

I think i'm gonna start piecing together a turbo kit for my f22 after I do more research. I know a mechanic who said he'd turbo my friends GTI VR6 for $600. Considering VW's are a complete pain in the ass to work on in general, i'm hopin he'd go a little lower on my turbo install.

Turbo for 600? I'd stay away from that lol. A legitimate turbo setup done right costs around at least 3K.

As for the rwd, I'm with AznxTL, it would probably cost around 15k in labor and parts and whatnot, alot of fabrication would be needed.

The only thing ive seen anything close to what your talking about is a newer Ford Focus Hatch with a 5.0 302ci mustang engine, an AWD 4 door integra using crv parts I believe, and a rear wheel drive CRX running a NSX motor in the back hatch. All those cars im sure ran alot of money especially the crx and focus. the awd integra was in Honda Tuning awhile back. Im not sure. If you can dig it up you might find some useful info. All in all I think it would be hard to make it reliable. If you win the lottery though you can convert everyones car

aside from the focus, the other's are really complicated, expensive and mostly one-off.

i'm gonna keep it as simple as possible. kepp it auto, turn the motor 90 degrees, make a bell housing adapter to fit like a chev trans, custom driveshaft to a 300ZXTT rear suspension mounted to a custom subframe. gas tank will most likely be a lexus sc300/400/soarer gastank that sit's up against the back of the seat. or i'll just make a tank.

well i mean if were talking about dumping a rediculous amount of money into something, why not the new RL AWD drive train with a j32-6spd.

BTW anyone seen the talk about the 2010 TL-SH with the AWD option? looks like ive found my candidate to finally get my cl garaged!
