Before my car was in an accident I got 400 mpg.Now I have it back and it only gets 300 mpg.I asked the body shop if they did anything to the engine and they said that they just had to replace a couple oh hoses and pipes.How did I lose so much gas mileage and what should I do?

I think that if you're getting 300 mpg you have nothing to complain about -

But if you meant 300 miles to the tank then you might want to look into it. Are you sure you aren't just driving different?

yeah I meant 300 miles to the tank.The only thing I changed about the engine or my driving habits was that I put in a CAI.

yea, and that should help gas, are you sure you don't goose it more now to hear the sweetness from the intake?

maybe from putting in your intake you didnt connect your vacuum lines properly or the body shop didnt, that could make bad gas mileage

sounds like change in driving, i dont think the shop would change something that dramatic to change from 300 to 400 per pank, how in the hell do you get 400, i have only seen a little above 300 thats if im driving to see my parents but mostly in town miles i get about 270 avgerage in city

my car gets 360 on 3/4 tank alll highway. otherwise i get bout 300-320. i would think i could get about 400 an a full tank. the needle drops so damn fast after 1/2 tank

I got 485 on the last full tank. Jumped from around 430 - 485. That was with my ignition. w00t ignition!

I get about 320 per tank.

btw: My car feel somewhat faster right after i fill it up does any one else's car do the same or is it just the gas fumes getting to me

I'm getting just over 300 but i have a dirty air filter witch i think makes a difference

I know that was a joke and everything but if it was an electric car it wouldn't get 485 on a full tank of gas, because an electric car doesn't use gas. I think the word you were looking for was "hybrid."

just my 2 cents..
i get anywhere between 300-350 depending on drivin habits, like everyone said, thats the main thing.. more rpms = more gas
if ya want 400mpt - dont drive it like ya stole it..

Yea i got 485 miles on the tank no joke.

I usually get about 430 max. All I had in the car at the time was ignition. When I had my header and exhaust i think it was 410 max. Kinda backwards I know... but the numbers don't lie.

But yea... 485 miles, showed all my co-workers too. Good shit MSD ignition.

All highway miles cuz i drive about 80 miles roundtrip to work each day. This is driving at maybe 75-90 mph and not using the throttle harshly.

I get 330-360 and I have a 3.0 I drive just about all city miles but I dont stomp on the gas, only when im late for work!...so whats up with the ignition kit? ive heard of an MSD SCI but whats the best and where do you get these from for cheap? do they come as a package so its like plug n play? Ive also read somewhere about adding a coil?
