Looks like bi-xenon. How's the fitting? I wanted to put some TLs (bi-xenon) in, but they are massive.

Oh they are AFS. I have not heard of any success stories at hidplanet of getting the AFS feature working in a car that did not have it . But if you can do it, send over the info.

Don't you need sensors on your rack and pinion or something to tell the motors when to move?

Yeah I would think so. You also need to grab the speed either from the ECU, VS or Shaft Speed Sensor. Since you have to look further down the curve at higher speeds, the projector would have to pivot more than at low speeds. Or just have the projector go into full pivot upon a steering turn detection.

How about using the existing ABS wheel sensor? When you turn right the left wheel sensor should emit more pulses, then you can pivot your right projector. Vice-versa for the opposite.

good luck with those

I'm not familiar with the g35 projectors, but I think they're middle of the line performers. Since they're bixenons, they seem like they may actually be the same as the FX projectors, which are OK projectors in stock form and have good width but the foreground intensity isn't too great. However if you can get a set of crystal clear lenses such as the TSX projectors, you can get a crapload of sharpness and color out of those things. If I'm correct, those things have fresnel lined lenses.

this is true, if you can replace the fresnel lens for a clear one, youd be set. but i think the major concern is getting the fat bi-xenon to fit in our housings.

Def not an easy task, but like you said it's doable. Lemme know if you have any questions. I think making a shroud to cover the screw mounts will be more of a pain than cutting the reflectors to fit.

Has anyone ever fit a bi-xenon projector in the CL, like TL projectors for example? Or is the tsx a close fit as is?

The TSX is perfect fit, but it's not bi-xenon. Both 97acura3.0CL and VXCL fit bixenons into CL headlights, VXCL also did Outlaw's retro which I believe was bixenon as well, they always used BMW bi-xenon projectors. No one has done TL projectors in a CL that I know of, the last 2 members on here that did it including myself were both TSX.

I wanted to do the TL bixenon, tsx, or s2000 (if I can find a set at a reasonable price). I'll probably do tsx since I still have a couple pairs of projectors left. How perfect of a fit is the tsx? I don't have a CL yet, so I can't take the headlights apart to test fit. How hard was it to make your custom shroud? I'm trying to keep the headlights all reflective without blackhousing. All my other retrofits are blackhoused to make it easier to hide things.

The TSX fits amazing, just gotta hide the large square piece around it, which was why i used a shroud to clean things up
Check out my pics here.

The shroud was simple I used a shroud from another car and just trimmed it to fit, painted the shroud black. I kept mine all reflective, and nixed the blackhousing cuz it would have been too raccoon eyes for me.

I saw your thread about the retrofit while doing research. I meant I want the part you put CF in to have a reflective shroud. I'm guessing the easiest way to do that would be to use bmw E46 "xenon" shrouds. I did one of my of my retrofit with a similar style shroud as yours. I used sheet metal painted black with a piping reducer from ace hardware.

Yeah, the e46 shrouds would work, course you could always use the e46 projectors too, I almost did those till I decided to do the tsx. For my shrouds, I used crossfire bezels and just trimmed em to fit and then painted em
