Fuel Filters, Pain in the rear?

Decided im going to seafoam my car which means i have to change the oil and oilfilter, decided wth ill change my fuel filter in the process.

Started looking around online and read that years 99 and above have them inside the tanks? Is this true? Would i be better off just buying a fuel filter going to jiffy lube and paying them 20$ to put it in for me, or is it relatively easy? Raise car... depressurize, remove the old one, pop in the new one?

'99 2.3cl

If its not one that needs a drained tank and blah blah blah blah... any recommended brands?

its not $20 bucks to replace and if they do say its $20 they have no idea what they are getting into
4 cyl fuel filter is located on the backside of the engine and a real pain to replace. im pretty sure the 99 doesnt have the filter in the tank. it defeats the purpose of replacing it where x miles. gl

I had a tough time with mine, both of the oem replacement filters that i tried leaked, I ended up using a fram which didn't leak and worked perfectly. You can read more about my issues here

The fuel filter in the tank isn't like the one that's in the engine bay. It's more like a plastic mesh "bag" that connects to the fuel pump and it filters out the larger stuff that gets into your tank.

You would only want to replace it when the fuel pump goes bad.
