Front Speakers

Hey Guys! So today after my 3:30 class I'm going to my local audio shop and picking up a set of front speakers. Right now all I have is an Audiobahn 2300 amp with an Eclipse Aluminum 10. I'm also still using the factory head unit. I have a set of Nakamichi 6x9's from my Malibu that i'm gonna put in the rear deck. My question is this! I was just going to purchase a set of 1 inch Audiobahn tweets and a set of 6 1/2 eclipse speakers. Should I do this? Or should I buy an audiobahn component set? It's 70 bucks more for the full component set. Also. The front tweets won't be hard, but how hard are the front door speakers to change? I was looking at this guys car on cardomain.com and he had like a piece of brown fiber board behind his speaker screwed to the factory mounting plate. Will I have to do this? Or will the 6 1/2's just screw right in? Let me know guys. Thanks!

i would get components. You dont want highs playing by ur feet and on ur dash. It messes up the sound imaging. At first i switched mine out to 2 ways in the doors and left the tweeters in the dash and they sounded funny. Then i got components and it was all good. I dont know about audiobahn mid drivers by my premiers fit right in. The only reason i buy pioneer speakers is because the screw right in and fit perfectly. They sound good too. They are a little bright but they are very tunable. Just set the treble to like -1 and they have good mids.

i have a pair of boston acoustic 6 1/2's in my doors. i had to cut out part of the factory mounts so the speakers would fit. i had to take the door panel off to get to them but they aren't hard to get off.

get focal components, they mids and highs they produce are very crisp and clear without the piercing noise at high volumes, you can get a good set on ebay for $150, which is pretty damn cheap for focals
